After seeing my former student Gabrielle Hartman perform at the KU band camp, where she received a Woodwind Award! I headed to Brazil, for two weeks of teaching oboe and bassoon to some of the most enthusiastic students I've ever met:. Maria and Pedro wrap reeds. Stevy and Amanda discuss different reed styles. Pedro is a guitarist who decided to learn bassoon. Looking forward to some more jazz next year!

And promote her book, An Intro to Contemporary Music for Bassoon. David Gray began playing the alto recorder in the early 1960s during the 20th century's rediscovery of both early music and the recorder. Long ago he migrated to playing mostly bass and contrabass recorder. The group plays largely Renaissance music. But also some Medieval and modern music. David decided to learn the baroque bassoon.
