Buddies in Ireland: March 2007
http://rinehimersinireland.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2007. Two more counties down. People in Ireland knew my family’s name like it was a local family in a small town, which actually it was for many years. Questions about our time in Ireland, our family and talk of the weather we all gave her a hug and proceeded on our way back to the bus stop. The pitch, consisted of three main fields with games or practice going on on each. Tom was there watching. The rest of our day was spent in downtown Limerick. We toured King John’s. And boarded th...

Monday, August 20, 2007. A Webby Riney Good Timey. The next day at work i was pretty miserable/ thankful to be there. why such a contrast you ask? They were trekking along the narrow roads trying to see through splashes and drops, attempting to climb hills through the insane weather, and what was that noise? That your belly doesn't quite feel right after eating mashed potatoes, chips. Thursday we head off to Dubs, Dublin that is. The. Train was SO worth it! Picture and note the sign: We also got to St...

http://rinehimersinireland.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 14, 2008. 360, minus 10, degrees. Made it full circle. We are in our final month in the land of 1,000 greens. We have 1 1/2 more weeks here and then we shall embark on an exciting journey to visit Prague, Krakow and London! We have found that most of our favorite memories have been created while we have been traveling this year so we're greatly anticipating this trip. Our living situation has changed drastically over the last 2 months. Our landlord moved out in the beginning of decemb...

Buddies in Ireland: May 2007
http://rinehimersinireland.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 18, 2007. Mates from the States. Michael and I had such an incredible time with our first all-for-us visitors! My college girlfriends, Steph and Beth (links to their blogs can be found on the right) came for 4 days of sheer bliss and laughter. I would highly recommend visiting Steph's blog where she recounted our visit all in limerick (you know. that fun Irish poem) its hysterical! We then sauntered to Taaffe's, our favorite for trad music. It did not disappoint! After the heat and rays we ne...

Buddies in Ireland: April 2007
http://rinehimersinireland.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 16, 2007. Hang Ten and Pucker Up. Well dudes and dudettes, we caught some gnarly waves whilst surfing down in Clonakilty, County Cork this weekend! It was the first experience for both of us but that didn’t stop us from standing up and doing some truly legit surfin’. Clonakilty is a coast town south west of Cork City. It is a cozy place with only a few thousand residents so it was nice to know a local as we did manage to visit a few of its pubs. Inchydoney beach was perfect. The water w...

Buddies in Ireland: December 2006
http://rinehimersinireland.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 28, 2006. Why are you going? How are you getting to go? What are you going to do there? That's what you're thinking, or have thunk at some point right? Well let us tell you:. Warning: we thought talking in the 3rd person would make our story easier to follow. Crack in Ireland means: fun, enjoyment, abandonment, or lighthearted mischief; and sometimes in the context of drinking or music). We really can't wait! For now we're enjoying some relaxation in Pennsylvania with Mike's parents af...

Volunteering: New Orleans: The Work
http://ladybtonola.blogspot.com/2007/03/work.html
I'm at it again- Volunteering! Such is the life of a 'do-gooder'. Join me as I embark on another volunteer trip, this one closer to home in New Orleans! Sunday, March 04, 2007. Like True Volunteers, we went where we were needed, even if it meant doing the jobs that were not as glamorous as building houses. Monday and Tuesday we volunteered to work on the punch lists for houses on Alvar. Onto a flat bed, and getting a bus out of the mud. Over at the warehouse they are still getting things organized, so we...

Volunteering: New Orleans: The Progress
http://ladybtonola.blogspot.com/2007/03/progress.html
I'm at it again- Volunteering! Such is the life of a 'do-gooder'. Join me as I embark on another volunteer trip, this one closer to home in New Orleans! Sunday, March 04, 2007. The Progress is slow and steady. Rome wasn't built in a day and New Orleans won't be reborn overnight. There are groups in the city working from the ground up to help those in need, those who want to return, those who want to stay. The gift from JT. Links to my Buds' Blogs.
