Customization of the Internet | Theresainthecity's Weblog
https://theresainthecity.wordpress.com/2011/01/11/customization-of-the-internet
January 11, 2011 · 7:14 pm. Customization of the Internet. My friend Eli had some interesting things to say about the customization of the internet in Salon a few months back. ( Read it here. His point is basically that the internet is becoming customized to the user, especially through search engines. So when you search for “diamonds” one user will get news results on Sierra Leone, another on Tiffany and Co. The internet is “leading us back to ourselves”. So aside from arguments about this customized in...

Confessions of a Lamebrain: Everything I needed to Know
http://aserehtscott.blogspot.com/2008/02/everything-i-needed-to-know.html
Confessions of a Lamebrain. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Everything I needed to Know. I learned from an 80s movie. I'm thinking about changing this blog's name to Theresa's Nostalgic Lists o' Fun. But anyway, as you may have guessed I wasn't the most popular kid in school when I hit those awkward puberty years. A number of factors contributed to this, right now I can think of a few reasons:. My mom was a 3rd grade teacher, who sang in an embarrassingly high falsetto during our weekly choir practice. Every...

Confessions of a Lamebrain: re-decorating!
http://aserehtscott.blogspot.com/2008/03/re-decorating.html
Confessions of a Lamebrain. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Our garbage disposal broke today, which means we will have to put in a work order and hide the cats in a closet for a couple of days which is always a headache. Also the broken garbage disposal has drained any motivation I had to clean the kitchen which is pretty disgusting at this point and smells kind of funny. Where I could enjoy everything I made while the sun shone in through the window. 2 Buy some awesomely kick knacks to liven the place up: Ther...

Confessions of a Lamebrain: TV
http://aserehtscott.blogspot.com/2008/02/tv.html
Confessions of a Lamebrain. Sunday, February 17, 2008. You know, the Wood County Library really is a nice place. Sure they don't have the best selection of books and their music collection sucks but as far as local libraries go it's a good one. Not only do you get a free cup of coffee when you are there (forget that sign that says you have to donate) but today I walked in and there was a string quartet set up just playing away. Gems like Everwood and Absolutely Fabulous. It's really exciting. Deadly Game...

Confessions of a Lamebrain: So Things
http://aserehtscott.blogspot.com/2008/03/so-things.html
Confessions of a Lamebrain. Friday, March 28, 2008. So what's been up this past week? I was denied the job with Dan Wigutow. I got a job with Open Student Television Network. And I have another interview with Arts Engine. I'm still holding out hope. And if I keep delaying these summer plans I may very well be homeless in May and living out of a subway station bathroom ala Will Smith. I think that's it. Have a good weekend.
