Monday, 11 August 2014. The moment to move has arrived. So how do I feel? Excited. Nervous. Frightened. Calm. It has been so many years since I first felt the call to ministry, and now I am taking one big step towards realising that call - moving to the place where I shall be minister. One thing my training at college has taught me (among many things obviously! I believe God has called me, and now I must trust him to equip me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Thursday, 23 June 2011. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My name is Will Fletcher and I am 33 years old. I am a student presbyter in the Methodist Church, training at Wesley House, Cambridge. When I am not studying I am a keen follower of rugby where Harlequins are my favourite team, although I do follow Cambridge as well. I play in a local Brass Band who were happy for a mediocre tuba player to join them. View my complete profile. Until September my virtual friends.

Methodist Pilgrim: January 2012

Monday, 16 January 2012. We all have a story to tell. The final part of my bereavement training last week has left me with lots to think about. At the moment, the thought going round my head is that we do all have a story to tell. Our course leader encouraged us to engage bereaved people in their story, including the deceased person for whom they are grieving. Thursday, 12 January 2012. Do they know if I would prefer a funeral service or a thanksgiving service? We also considered the attachments that we ...

Friday, 11 November 2011. We will remember them. They shall grow not old,. As we who are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,. We will remember them. Wednesday, 9 November 2011. Wouldn't it be great if the whole church grasped some of that optimism. That saw all people, not as miserable sinners, but as 'candidates for heaven? It sometimes feels as though our beloved Methodist Church needs life breathed into it. Well I sugges...

Methodist Pilgrim: September 2011
http://methodistpilgrim.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, 15 September 2011. I have heard people talking about 'Thin Places', places where the gap between heaven and earth seems at it's thinnest, places where people feel closest to God. Maybe it is because I am moving away from Thatcham next week, but today I have spent some time reflecting on my thin places here. Ose who have been and gone. We are not a perfect church, but in amongst the imperfections, there is Jesus. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. People are welcome to leave c...

Methodist Pilgrim: April 2011
http://methodistpilgrim.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 18 April 2011. I am a big believer in ecumenism and am sure that we can do more together than we can apart. Thatcham has always been a town where the churches work well together. However, in the space of a couple of days I have twice had my faith in ecumenism rocked. Tuesday, 5 April 2011. During Lent some of us from Church have been reading through 'The Promise of Easter' by Fleur Dorrell. Today's reading was Psalm 130 and I read:. I wait for the Lord. My soul waits,. And in his word I hope;.
