Day Three, Cape Town | Stephen Elliot | Artist, Teacher, Adventurer

Stephen Elliot Artist, Teacher, Adventurer. Makings and musings from a lifelong creative freelancer. Skip to primary content. Day Three, Cape Town. September 7, 2014. Before I agreed to come on this trip I made a list of a few adventurous things I wanted to do if time permitted. At the top of that list was “Swim with sharks.”. You see, the most famous scene from Planet Earth. 8221; for today. Consider this the Director’s Cut:. We had a lull between our afternoon shoot and dinner plans, so Jedd took me to...

Stephen Elliot Artist, Teacher, Adventurer. Makings and musings from a lifelong creative freelancer. Skip to primary content. Day Four: Cape Town to Durban. September 7, 2014. I’ve never been the type of person to hit up a winery, but after visiting three of them today it’s easy to see why they are so popular. Each of them were stunning and unique in their own right, and their beauty was paired nicely with the perfect spring weather. If you like it, share it. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window).
Day Five: Durban | Stephen Elliot | Artist, Teacher, Adventurer

Stephen Elliot Artist, Teacher, Adventurer. Makings and musings from a lifelong creative freelancer. Skip to primary content. September 9, 2014. Over 19 hours ago my alarm signaled the start of our day. None of us just how how busy the day would be, but now that it’s over it’s hard to believe everything that happened, much less that it all went so smoothly. We shot photos shortly past sunset as the moon greeted us exactly in time and exactly the right place. There was one final person we needed to sh...

Hope | The Ramblings of a Redhead...
https://jamiekayleread.wordpress.com/2007/03/19/hope
The Ramblings of a Redhead…. Some things have to be believed to be seen. – Ralph Hodgson. Listen to your own advice. I’m tired of being tired! March 19, 2007. I’ve had a lot of different ideas for posts lately, and they’re becoming too numerous…so I’m going to try and combine them into one. I’ll. To keep it brief🙂. Completely miserable and alone, yet I always. God was taking care of me and it wouldn’t be the end of the story. I. And I’m amazed by You. Cause You’re never far away. And I thank you Lord.
The more the words, the less the meaning: June 2006
http://stephenelliot.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
The more the words, the less the meaning. Tuesday, June 06, 2006. Two months and room to think. When we look back on our lives, we don't remember the ordinary; we crave extremes. And excitement. For a couple weeks now I've been stuck on the idea of two month blocks. Getting away, doing something different, being outside my element. For two months. Just think, how much could you learn in that time? The simple act of getting outside of our comfort zones forces us to think. I want to make films.
The more the words, the less the meaning: the art of appreciation
http://stephenelliot.blogspot.com/2006/11/art-of-appreciation.html
The more the words, the less the meaning. Thursday, November 09, 2006. The art of appreciation. As human beings we love it when people praise us for the work we do. There is a healthy level of pride that comes from finding a sense of satisfaction in our work. It makes my day to hear that somebody is pleased or takes delight in something I've made. And so I wonder. Is God any different? Is He not filled with delight when we praise Him for the work He has done? Posted by Stephen Elliot at 5:58 PM.

The more the words, the less the meaning: a world without peeping tom
http://stephenelliot.blogspot.com/2006/03/world-without-peeping-tom.html
The more the words, the less the meaning. Tuesday, March 14, 2006. A world without peeping tom. Live like no one's watching. To be honest, I'm not really sure what that means, but the thought fascinates me. Posted by Stephen Elliot at 4:33 PM. Reminds me of a favorite quote of mine."Work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching.". I love this one! And yet how hard it is to actually live like that! I want to make films. I want to teach. I give high fives.
The more the words, the less the meaning: August 2006
http://stephenelliot.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
The more the words, the less the meaning. Thursday, August 10, 2006. Among many reasons, I look forward to heaven as a place where we can experience life in community as it was meant to be. I long to hang out with my friends in a place void of prejudice, grudges, ulterior motives, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, slander, and finger pointing. I'm not sure what reconciliation will look like in heaven, but I would much rather arrive there on good terms with those dear to me. Aside from my La-Z-Boy. How ma...

Monday, February 25, 2008. JENNY HOYSTON TOUR BLOG! Mary, now officially the drummer for Jenny Hoyston on her European tour, flew in to Oakland from Portland and Jenny met her at the airport. We had rehearsals in the LESBIANS practice space in San Francisco for one day and had to learn about five more songs to fill out the set in a matter of hours. Mary tried to lower the stress level by practicing in her underpants. This fun show was at The Maze and promoted by Matt and Neil from Damn You! It was awesom...
