Talk geek to me! July 19, 2015. First of all, yes, this version of Ant-Man differs a great deal from the comic book version. In the Marvel Universe, Ant-Man and the Wasp were among the original founders of the Avengers. Hank Pam was both Ant-Man and Yellowjackets. Scott Lang was also Ant-Man, but after Pym became Yellowjacket full-time. But this is the Marvel Movie Universe and it’s different and that’s fine. Cross/Yellowjacket was barely developed though. He’s pretty much evil from the time we...July 19...

Talk geek to me! Comic-Con Review Part 2 — Outside the Convention Center. July 17, 2015. The area between the Convention center and the Hilton I felt wasn’t as good this year as last. Fox had a Simpsons theme last year that didn’t require registration. This year, both the FX Fearless and Adult Swim areas had lines to register before you could go in and wait in more lines. Overall, I still enjoyed Comic-Con, whether going inside or outside. Comic-Con 2015 in Review part I. Ant-Man Review →. Star Trek Beyo...

Talk geek to me! Comic-Con 2015 in Review part I. July 14, 2015. Well, I survived Comic-Con 2015. It’s as crazy and crowded and chaotic as ever. But, I thought I would give a run down of some highlights, etc. More to come on the rest of the weekend! Lucifer — Short Review. Comic-Con Review Part 2 — Outside the Convention Center →. Talk geek to me! Monthly Archives: July 2015. We Need a Political “Swear” Jar. July 27, 2015. In reading the news, I keep seeing two patterns repeating themselves. One of course is that several federal programs are running out of money. The second is the misbehavior and antics of current politicians, particularly those running for president. So why not use the one to help solve the other? Here are some ideas:. Giving out an opponent’s private phone number: $10,000. Lying about own record: $30,000. Hermes...

Talk geek to me! A Tale of Two Kitties. July 24, 2015. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Actually, no, it was just this afternoon. It was a hot and sunny afternoon. I decided to play with Hermes, the 10 month old kitten while Hector, the 15 year old cat, slept in his basket. And I started getting all philosophical like. So, I’m now 49 and have to decide, do I want to become even more like Hector or should I start emulating Hermes? We Need a Political “Swear” Jar →. You are commenting u...

Talk geek to me! Monthly Archives: June 2015. What to write about this week. June 28, 2015. What a week for the country. (And I realize what a terrible week it has been in many parts of the world.) So much has happened and with getting over jet lag, I kept thinking about what I wanted to write about. I’m not a Southerner and so many other people have stated opinions on the confederate flag issue eloquently and thoughtfully. Of course, nonbelievers will just chalk this up to random chance. Talk geek to me! May 31, 2015. Well, I made it. Woohoo. I turned 49 this past week and celebrated with friends and family. There were dragon masks and rings and my niece made a cake with the cover of my chapbook on it. It was beautiful. So what’s the big deal about 49? Why I am writing now and not waiting for next year, the big 50? Well, it’s pretty simple. My father didn’t make it to 49. He died a week before his 49th birthday. Ronneburg (castle) →.
