On the road again… | スティーヴンの日記

Stephen's journal; this just some rambling about my daily life in Japan. Special journal re-purposing: Play, the Arts, and Drama SPECIAL MISSION. May 17, 2012. In Life in Japan. On the road again. Today’s music is the surprisingly catchy BARKLEYNO theme. This is no ordinary song. Indeed, it is a mashup between the song “Guns and Roses” by Paradise Lunch, and none other than the theme of. Needless to say, it is impressive. It’s always been a mystery to me. We were told the weather was bad. Eventually I ma...

Stephen's journal; this just some rambling about my daily life in Japan. Special journal re-purposing: Play, the Arts, and Drama SPECIAL MISSION. November 20, 2012. In Life in Japan. So it’s been another large chunk of time since my previous entry. I’ve decided the only way I’m going to get this thing properly updated with any consistency is to do smaller updates. Otherwise I’ll miss out on so many opportunities to show off what I’ve been up to! After the sports day, I got a ride from the teachers to a n...

Stephen's journal; this just some rambling about my daily life in Japan. Special journal re-purposing: Play, the Arts, and Drama SPECIAL MISSION. August 25, 2012. In Life in Japan. It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? And here I thought I would have more time when summer came. If anything, I’ve been busier than ever. So– April. After returning from my adventure in Hong Kong, I was pretty pooped… and worst of all, the new sunglasses that I had bought broke! The udon was decent enough, but certainly it seemed that...

Stephen's journal; this just some rambling about my daily life in Japan. Special journal re-purposing: Play, the Arts, and Drama SPECIAL MISSION. January 31, 2012. In Life in Japan. Here we go, 2012! Oh man, here we go! So who am I? This month’s music isn’t anything particularly special or meaningful. It’s a tune that plays in LittleBIGPlanet 2, and I found it particularly enjoyable just because of the neat techno feel and how the song builds up. Where do I begin? I got to wear a full kimono and couldn&#...

Case of the Strep. Last night I knew my cousin Lynne wasn`t feeling too well after finishing work. She came home, throat killing her. She passed out, and I went to school the next morning to do my OSCE – an evaluation. Having done an entire OSCE this morning, I grabbed my stethoscope, and a light. I sat her down asked a few questions. So my history:. Listened to her chest, palpated her cervical lymph nodes, which a few were tender. Look inside her throat, and bingo. I immediately took her to the doctor, ...

Newer posts →. We were short one staff this week, and only 3 people to cover 45 patients, some more active than others, we had to take on twice as many. At about around Wednesday I started getting a sore throat, fatigue and weakness. I don’t feel so hot. 8220; My attending checked my throat, and temperature (so my supervisor apparently was a GP before becoming an internist) and told me to go home. 8221; I was finally convinced. 8211; Lewis B. Sunday, 25 December 2011. Personalize your own free scrapbooking design. Wednesday, 7 December 2011. Literally. Mince pies and Christmas pudding are on their way! I am one happy Brit! And look what else will be in my super parcel. Now you may mock, but after an extended absence you really do develop very strong cravings for such basics, and they simply cannot be found for love nor money on Shikoku (as far as I am aware). Sunday, 27 February 2011. February 2011 Daring Bakers Challenge - Panna Cotta and Florentine Cookies. The February 2011 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Mallory from A Sofa in the Kitchen. She chose to challenge everyone to make Panna. Recipe and Nestle Florentine Cookies. I can't believe that, considering I had this month's challenge done and dusted right at the start of the month, I didn't manage to post my results on time! I made the panna. Poured the vanilla panna. I also halved the recipe, as ...

Friday, 24 September 2010. What happened to Popo-chan? Answers on a postcard please. Tuesday, 21 September 2010. We had a birthday! Actually, it was last week. Somehow the days pass without me hardly noticing and I get so far behind in reporting on our happenings. My baby is 3! Yikes, can you believe it? And the excitement. I think she has the idea that she is catching up with her brothers in age :-) Certainly, she thinks that she can do whatever they can. Especially now that she has a bike! Living in ve...

Back home after 6 years. I remember how scary and exciting it was to be graduated high school, leaving home to a University town/community to embark in undergraduate studies for four years. A lot has changed, I went from being extremely conservative, shy, and timid to free-spirited, adventurous, forthcoming and confident (although a small part of me says I should be more modest when I say things like that! Spring Cleaning –. So much stuff,. No place like home. This entry was posted in Dear Diary. I'm Ann...

https://aninoyuri.wordpress.com/2011/07/13/my-last-week-in-orthopedics
My last week in orthopedics. This rotation, for orthopedics, I scrubbed in and assisted in every single surgery. I saw 20-30 patients at every clinic, with a review and feedback with the physician after EACH case I had seen. I worked on a weekly basis on my goals which my preceptor helped me set and achieve, and I received constructive feedback. By far the most structured learning environment and rewarding rotation (my second last one too! I’ve had so far. Good teachers are hard to come by. Email (Addres...
Lost and found « Ani no Yuri
https://aninoyuri.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/lost-and-found
So I purchased a roots “flat” handbag for my internal medicine rotation. Opting in to sport a bag rather than a white coat with all of its pockets. I am able to fit a few pocket handbooks, as well as having something to hook my pager onto. Well, I realized since the start of this morning that I had no idea where my handbag was. I knew it had to be somewhere in my house. I searched every conceivable place, even calling up SM to see if it was there with him. This entry was posted in Work. Notify me of new ...

Stephen's journal; this just some rambling about my daily life in Japan. June 6, 2013. Why Coming Home Is Hard. Thursday, 26 June 2014. Even the No side realise their recent 'pledges' on more powers are not enough to stem the flow of support from No to Yes. That’s the only logical conclusion from the interventions in recent days in support of a federal UK by Gordon Brown and his colleague in the No campaign, Murdo Fraser. I’m guessing it’s because they are picking up the same reaction as we are to the No Thanks more powers ‘pledges’. The question is now about the extent of the new powers Scotland gets and how best...
