Saxes, Clarinets and Others. Comfortable in all genres from jazz to classical, pop, soul, blues, funk and reggae. Gifted with excellent sight reading and a relaxed , confident, improvisational style. Steph can adapt to any style at short notice. Steph is primarily an alto and tenor player but is at home on all the saxophone family. Steph is equally at home playing some Mozart or playing some swinging, growling blues on the clarinet. She also loves any opportunity to play the bass clarinet. Go To Home Page.

Steph teaches saxophone and clarinet both jazz and classically whether the student wishes to do exams or to just play for fun. Teaches privately as well as in local schools. Improvisation, harmony and theory also taught. Workshops are held throughout the year for her private students to give them a platform to work with other musicians and to play in front of an audience. Steph can also facilitate your workshop with your band or ensemble and can help you progress or to work on a certain area.

BLACKJACK AND THE WAH-WAHS. Professional jazz function band for hire. 5 piece consisting of sax/clarinet, trumpet/voice, piano, double bass and drums. Perfect for any wedding, bar mitzvah, corporate or charity event where you need some sophistication added to your night. Demos at: Blackjack and The Wah-Wahs. Steph can often be found in the clubs of East London and Essex jamming along with the DJ and percussion player. There are many other bands and ensembles in the pipeline so watch this space.

Steph has been playing since the age of 8 and was brought up listening to the big bands of the 30s and 40s followed by the songs from the 60s and 70s. Pop was discovered much later in her teens! This musical education influenced her choice of instruments and after a brief stint on the cello Steph decided that woodwind instruments was definitely the way to go. Steph is a holder of the Licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Distinction. Go to Home Page.
