The bee's knees. Let me introduce myself…. Archive March, 2015. Today, when after a student rushed to get to the front of line in class, another asked him, “Why do you always want to be in the front of the line? Jokingly, I placed my arm around the student in the front of the line and said, “He just wants to be near me.”. To this, the other student replied, “Well, doesn’t everyone? My heart melted. Fifth grade boys can be such sweetie pies. Where will I be living? Who will I be spending my time with?

The bee's knees. Let me introduce myself…. Archive October, 2014. I love Korea’s café culture. I have come to love spending time, hours, days in cafés. Writing, thinking, working. At the beginning of this school year, my very favorite café closed, and I didn’t even get to say goodbye to the owner who knew my name, knew my favorite drink, and frequently gave me free treats. I miss Café AND, but in losing it, I have found more favorites! I marvel at the things that make me homesick. People and words fr...

The bee's knees. Let me introduce myself…. The more one does and sees and feels, the more one is able to do, and the more genuine may be one’s appreciation of fundamental things like home, and love, and understanding companionship. – Amelia Earheart. Way-gook-in' it up in Korea!: June 2009
http://bethanyinkorea.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Way-gook-in' it up in Korea! A foreign face in a foreign place. Monday, June 29, 2009. The beginning of the end. I will miss other things about Korea too - the culture, the food, the mountains (! Question. How can I possibly sum up my year here in Korea in a "short" answer? I don't even know what I truly think of my time here. Obviously there were many good experiences, and many difficult experiences. But overall, what do I think? Anyway, that is a bit of what I am trying to get a grip on these days.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. I know it's been a really long time since I've done a blog update. Yeah yeah, i know. Anyway, maybe I'll try and be a little better about it. OK, so, i'll just bullet-point the rundown of everything that's been going on. Mom and pete are coming in just under two weeks! I got them rail passes so we'll get to bullet train around quite a bit. Dad's coming in july! Korea comes across as a mix between japan and china in many ways. from the literal (the language sounds like both to m...

Way-gook-in' it up in Korea! A foreign face in a foreign place. Sunday, November 30, 2008. Friday morning I got up at 6am and called my grandparents' house - my dad's side of the family was all gathered there and were starting to enter the food coma from Thanksgiving dinner! I got to talk to everyone, and it made me really wish I could be there. But it was great to hear from everyone! I definitely was tearing up a bit. I was definitely getting into it and was really proud of them! I told him that in the ...

Thursday, October 8, 2009. Two months, already? Man, I'm really slippin' here with this blog huh? Well, a lot has happened in two months, so I'll just do little bits of things as they pop into my head. The newbies are here, and I like them. Yay for having great replacements. School festival was last weekend, it was a blast. The band concert in particular was great. I'm almost done with battlestar galactica. probably my favorite show in terms of enjoyment ever. Made burgers a couple of nights ago, it was ...

http://ikeinjapan.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 4, 2010. I'm a florist at heart. I got to help arrange flowers for the opening ceremony and i realized that without a doubt that i'm terrible. but all of my co-teachers are like "dwight you're so good! I just tried to look like i know what i'm doing. When they first showed up i walked into the break room where they were arranging them all on the table and promptly went, "aww, i know i have a beautiful face but you don't need to buy me flowers! One of my english teachers lost it. :D.
