http://sandraplett.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Stories of Life in Mexico. Monday, January 15, 2007. HADIME (Making Disciples in Mexico). We started with 3 days of orientation and training on what it means to be disciples of Jesus. We all stayed together at our church, and it proved to be a time of bonding, getting to know one another, and building up a team. Although I was exhausted, and struggling with a pretty severe cold, it proved to be a really great start to the program. So, I swerved to miss the van, clipping the side of the van with my mirror...

Stories of Life in Mexico. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Soyesterday Jen and I decided to join the ranks of Mexicans in decorating our home for the holidays. We can't really compete with the guy down the street who has his balcony decked out with every possible Christmas decoration known to man:) But, we decided to try, so we set up our Christmas tree. Jen and I decided to go with white lights, red ribbon, and silver decorations. I love decorating Christmas Trees! So, at the end of the evening I settled i...

Stories of Life in Mexico. Sunday, February 25, 2007. Mom and Dad come to Guadalajara. After almost a year of not seeing my parents, it was very exciting for me to be able to host them here at my place in Guadalajara! I have missed them so much, and I've often thought of them as I've toured around and gotten myself settled here, and wished that I could show them around. And last week I had the chance. Since they were only here a week, we had to cram a lot into a very short time! Sorry, no pictures! Day 3...

http://sandraplett.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Stories of Life in Mexico. Monday, December 18, 2006. This past week has been a busy one, full of many different things. So, I thought I'd just give a little update on some of the highlights. Last Sunday was the National Futbol Finals here in Mexico, between Guadalajara's team "Chivas" (Goats) and Toluca's team "Diablos" (Devils). So, we watched the last 1/2 hour with our youth group, after our church service. It was a very exciting finale, and the Chivas won! It was a lot of fun to get caught up in the ...

Sandra's Saga: October 2006
http://sandraplett.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Stories of Life in Mexico. Saturday, October 28, 2006. Some very generous person donated money to MBMSI for "personal care" of all missionaries. We were to spend the money either on caring for ourselves as individuals, teams, or couples (for those who are married, of course! So, Jen and I spent part of ours a while back on our trip to Puerta Vallarta, which was definitely a nice treat! But we also saved some to do something together as a team. We rented a little cabin for the 5 of us. And we had a bit of...

Sandra's Saga: May 2006
http://sandraplett.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Stories of Life in Mexico. Saturday, May 27, 2006. So, many of you are familiar with the city of Abbotsford, BC where they have a supposed noise curfew at 10pm. And if the city doesn't, then we certainly did at CBC (where I used to work). In the dorms it was quiet after 10pm (yeah right! Well, here in the beautiful city of Guadalajara, Mexico I really don't think they've ever heard of something so silly as "noise curfew". The restaurant "La Tequila" just up the street had their grand opening! Seriously, ...

Stories of Life in Mexico. Wednesday, July 26, 2006. North Carolina comes to Mexico! I realize I haven't updated in a while.but for good reason! Yesterday we said good-bye to the North Carolina after a busy 2 weeks together. A team of 7 came to spend a couple of weeks helping us with our Summer Camp for children. It was a very stretching, exhausting, but incredible time! It was an incredible opportunity, and I really enjoyed the very cross-cultural experience. I was also struck by their courage in even c...
