Maddox and I had a lunch date. Apparently this is how he takes a selfie. Shopped to update Daddy's wardrobe. They were troopers! Made friends at VBS. Watched our friends, Lucas and Shelley, get married. Played drums, drums, and more drums, as well as the couch and inner tube ("his cymbal" he told me). Went hiking with doggies.

Not sure where he got the idea (maybe from Lailey), but in the few weeks prior to our trip to Lake Sinclair, Maddox has been chatting about "fishin' with Granddaddy" and acting quite excited about it. Equipped with a new Spiderman fishing pole, thanks to Grammy and Granddaddy, he got to reel in his first catch. Lailey learning to bait her own hook. We tried for a family photo.

Oh wait, add in the hubs who loves Christmas and traditions just about as much as they do, and it's always a blast. On Christmas morning, after our fun time opening gifts, Grandpa came over for brunch. He also came with presents! This was actually from Maddox's birthday, but still he loves it. Getting the hang of it.

Last night the weather was so beautiful, and I am so pregnant, so a family walk seemed like the thing to do. I can't believe we've been in our new house 7 months and we haven't done this before now. I guess after moving it was holiday season, and then too cold, and then.well, life. I hope we do it more, because we all enjoyed it. I love this one. Look out for the tongue!

Despite the rough start with crazy thunderstorms which delayed us several hours, the rest of it was a blast. F.D. Roosevelt State Park. How appropriate that his shirt says "I DIG DIRT." He took a nice face plant! Even with the rain, the temperature wasn't bad, so they were loving all the mud and puddles. Buddy, that is NOT a sword!
