Confessions of a Lazy Scribe: November 2012

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. A few quick thoughts. Now the only thing I have to deal with are the scores of people complaining about the election. I understand that people don't like the fact that their candidate didn't win, but is it really necessary to endlessly complain about it? It's not like complaining is going to change the result, so I just don't see the reason for doing it. Labels: 30 Days Challenge. Don't) Rock the Vote. There, I said it...

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe: Costco over football? Yes, please...

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. Because I'm no longer emotionally invested in the state of the 2012 Carolina Panthers, I decided to skip my normal Sunday ritual of watching the game to spend time with my family and make a trip to Costco. One of the reasons I like going ot Costco is because you can find stuff there that you can't find anywhere else. I mean, where else are you going to find a 5 gallon bucket* of olive oil? I can't say that I abstained ...

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe: Whew! Now I'm exhausted...

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. Today's post is going to be short, and honestly the only reason I'm even writing it is because I made a promise to write something every day this month and I don't want to break that promise on the 3rd day of the month. I've been known to slack off and quit things before, but even I'm not that bad. After a grand total of 9 hours of driving, lifting, loading, and moving; I think I'm finally done, and now I'm worn out.

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe: Quotes

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day. The interesting thing is why we're so desperate for this anesthetic against loneliness. An intellectual is a person who's found one thing that's more interesting than sex.

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe: Deja, Deja, Deja, Deja, Deja Vu

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. Deja, Deja, Deja, Deja, Deja Vu. Have you seen the iPhone commercial with the stupid hipsters standing in line for hours just so they can buy a new phone, and then the one hipster who looks like he hasn't bathed or shaved in three weeks stands there counting his chubby little fingers while asking the question "Have you ever had deja, deja, deja, deja, deja vu*? My wife hates that commercial. Slow down. Deep breath.

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. Livin' La Vida Loca. Dammit why can't I just have fifteen minutes of peace. Will someone please turn that off. Leave your sister alone. That's hers, give it back. Ok, I'll be completely honest. I guess if I really wanted to I could make time to share my thoughts with the world. After all, who needs sleep, right? Well, I do actually. And, you do too (whether you want to admit it or not). Are my 15 minutes up yet. If you...

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. A tribute in ink. I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out. (And why shouldn't I be? It's quality work and it's exactly what I wanted. Actually, it's more than what I wanted, because I never thought it would turn out as great as it did.). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Confessions of a Lazy Scribe: May 2011

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. Yeah, you read that right.I'm a big fat slob. I hate myself sometimes for letting myself get this way. Why do we let ourselves go after we get married and have kids? Do we feel like we just don't matter anymore, or is there something else to it? It's time to actually stick to my guns, get off my lazy ass, and do what I've gotta do to lose weight. I'm sick of being unhealthy. Progresses. If I do happen to lose weigh...

Confessions of a Lazy Scribe. A series of observations from a slacker's point of view. Big Fat Slob: One Month Update. Last month I started my plan to stop being a big fat slob, and I must say that I'm impressed with myself as I've lost 12 pounds in the last 30 days. I honestly never thought I could do it because I like chocolate, ice cream, and reese cups too much.but I suppose even I can surprise myself if I put my mind to it and work towards reaching my goal.
