Supportive Therapeutic Enhanced Program Services (S.T.E.P.S.) has been operating since 2003. We are located in a rural area in Ontario that is both tranquil and beautiful. Our program is therapeutic in nature in that it offers adults who have developmental disabilities or dual diagnoses, a consistency and predictability in their daily routine. This proves to be very beneficial, as residents tend to settle well, learn basic life skills, and acquire skills to interact with the community.

Our day program is designed to teach residents basic life skills. It runs September to June, Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm and is directed by Crystal Lewis. We base the day program on the workbook, Living Skills Recovery . It includes worksheets and activities for dual diagnoses to help with and acquire basic living skills: focusing on stress management, daily living and social skills. We currently have two homes that are located in a rural setting with large yards and trails that allow the residents to enjoy the outdoors. Both homes have close proximity to a small urban area, where we have access to a medical and dental facility, pharmacy, library, grocery store and bank. The first home has two levels, each of which accommodates 3 individuals. Both levels have bright and cheery atmospheres. The second home has one level with room to accommodate six individuals.
