I took pleasure in the climb, I powered up each mountain, overcoming obstacles on my path. From the moment I started dating my OH my friends and family would make jokes about the fact I was going to be a wicked step-mum, I’ve got to admit I didn’t see the funny side. So the whole idea of step-parents just doesn’t sit well with me. I have connected with an awful lot of step-mums on Twitter and I admire them and the job they do and I would never judge them, but it’s just not for me.
