The NaNo Project: October 2009
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 26, 2009. The NaNo Project is related to the National Novel Writing Month. The event starts November 1st and ends November 30th. The idea is to write 75 pages (or 50,000 words) by the end of the month. You can read more about this program here. This year, NaNo WriMo came up for the first time in what feels like centuries. The timing of it all and the allure of getting an idea, months old at this point, down on paper simply clicked. So, here I am. 75 Pages. 50,000 Words. 1 Month. If anyone...

The NaNo Project: The Empty Playground
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2010/11/empty-playground.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. A closer look at Lavender. She is a small nod to my dad. There were lavender bushes planted outside my old home in VA. This was while I was in high school. There were also cherry blossom trees planted down the street of my neighborhood. I miss those a lot. 8220;Hey, boy,” she ruffled his ears, and made sure she scratched him under his collar. “You wanna go for a walk before our super boring trip? A new iPod to take with her on her runs? Maybe A new pair of shoes…? 8220;You kn...

The NaNo Project: The End Result
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2011/02/end-result.html
Wednesday, February 2, 2011. I finished NaNo WriMo with Cat's Paw Mountain two days early, at 53,000 words. I wish I could remember everything I wrote, but I am confidant there were complete sentences in the text. somewhere. :). It makes me happy to know I have a rough draft of this one, one I've been trying to get down on paper for quite some time. There is another like this one that's been waiting in the wings much longer. I wonder if that will be this November's. Or that there are 4 lights.

The NaNo Project: The Man with the Golden Touch
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2010/11/man-with-golden-touch.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. The Man with the Golden Touch. Warren Midas may be the Writer Favorite of this story. I dig him, and he does not put up much a fight when he's being written. Hard to tell from just one chapter, but we'll see how he measures up in the long run! 8220;Warren, right? Jeff motioned to one of the chair, and a pleasing smile peeled across his face. “Please, sit. It’s great to finally meet you.”. 8220;You too, Jeff. This is great.”. 8220;Hey, you eaten yet? The size of your head!

The NaNo Project: November 2009
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 23, 2009. Since Pepita’s confession, I find my mind completely mixed, lost within its own thoughts, it struggles for a solution to question that nags me through meals, nags me through sleep, nags me at every step I take. 8220;I have chosen to kill Lope.”. Why would she tell me? She must mistake my habit for a gag - how can I possibly remain silent regarding this? To reveal me a conspirator? That I even know is punishment enough! Why would she think to take the life of another man? Shuffl...

The NaNo Project: May 2010
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 24, 2010. Sleeping, waking, eating, storms. These are four of many things that will catch a publisher's attention. In this case, the attention garnered from "sleeping, waking, eating, storms" can often times kill the chances for a manuscript to advance. In the original draft of "The Anchoress", Nieve wakes. And heads up to a ship's deck to behold a rather terrifying storm. Hm I smell some challenge in the water! I am rather partial to it. Adan, the year is 1520. Would I lose my light? I was s...

The NaNo Project: June 2010
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Scenes of recovery from the storm, minor tweaking on Carmen and Nieve's dialogue, and even a bit of a closer look at Nieve toward the end. Enjoy! A modern day scene of Cartagena. Dearest Adan, what I saw still chills me to the bone. I shook my head, transfixed on the darkness far ahead of us. “No, Signor,” I said, my whispered words carried away with a passing hiss of wind. “I thought we had just pulled through the worst of it.”. 8220;Thank God you are all right.”. 8221; Elias asked.

Pixels and Pies: October 2010
http://pixelsandpies.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Okay, there is a vegan - I bear his no-egg eating self no ill-will - barring my way from entering the wide world of WordPress. I won't get into it, suffice it to say, he has not posted in a year, and he has a name similar to my own. I'm working on it, in the mean time, I am also posting a Batman: Arkham Asylum. Review. I've played Mass Effect 2. I'm playing Halo: Reach. Now, but I wanna talk about Batman. And what a Batman! I probably shouldn’t bitch. B:AA. Screw this, Princes...

Pixels and Pies: April 2010
http://pixelsandpies.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Things sure have been up in the air lately, but it's nice to be posting again. During the hiatus, I got to meet Andrew Radical's son. There's a little chef in that kid! Not only that, but your gastronomic gamer girl has her first podcast up and running with the unquestionable genius known as Joey the Mad Scientist. You can check us out here. You hit a point where it all becomes more manageable. And then? She’s gotta run. Follow me into madness. The reason for his death is at firs...
