Slightly obsessed, totally in love with my OTTB: retraining and figuring it out along the way. Hunter Paces, a Horse Show and Did I Mention HUNTER PACES? Asymp; Leave a comment. Hobbes says let’s do this! Hunter paces are our new favorite thing, the picture above is from our first one and as you can see we were both pretty thrilled about it! But as luck would have it by the time we arrived on Sunday morning the skies had cleared and the footing was surprisingly good. Hobbes worked hard but I know he love...

Thursday, December 29, 2011. Happy New Year’s. If you’re like me, you’re scratching your head wondering what happened to the summer…wasn’t it July 4. I can’t believe it’s the end of the year already, that the holidays are just about over and we have a long winter ahead of us. 1 To have fun with Misty. Every year I say things like, I’m going to take Misty to at least five shows…take biweekly lessons…be at this level of competition by this date, etc. and these things NEVER happen....As a child, I was an ex...

The Sassy Grey: Hopelessly devoted to ribbons – Part II
http://thesassygrey.blogspot.com/2012/02/hopelessly-devoted-to-ribbons-part-ii.html
Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Hopelessly devoted to ribbons – Part II. In one of my last posts, I encouraged. My friend Kelsey to “hop to” and create her ribbon shadow box. Well, she must have been inspired because look at what she produced over the weekend? Isn’t it perfect? And for those of you wondering, she did not cut the ribbons; she simply overlapped them or folded them back to make space. Leaving the rosettes attached to the ribbons themselves provided some background / filler. Listen to the Horse.

The Sassy Grey: May 2011
http://thesassygrey.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 30, 2011. A huge thanks to all the men and women who have served and are serving for our country. God Bless America! Tuesday, May 24, 2011. For as long as I could remember, I wanted to attend the Preakness Stakes. As a little girl, I would get so excited just knowing that the Preakness was held in Baltimore – finally, my city could claim something great – something big! In 2006, my dream came true – I was off to the races! I love my media pass - thanks MK! Then Barbaro broke through the start...

Saturday, August 27, 2011. Book Review – Beyond the Homestretch. So Hurricane Irene is here, ruining my weekend with lots of rain and heavy wind! Since I’m inside reading (and blogging), I figured I’d give my readers a review of a book I read and enjoyed earlier this year. (And yes, it’s a horse book). After reading Lynn Reardon’s Beyond the Homestretch. Don’t be surprised if, as a horse lover, you want to run off to. And start your own off-the-track Thoroughbred horse rescue. (James loves. The Sassy Grey: January 2012
http://thesassygrey.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. Hopelessly devoted to ribbons. I have ribbons on the brain for a few reasons. First, with this warm weather (Best. Winter. Ever.), I’m already looking ahead to spring. And after spring comes the best of all seasons, my glorious summer. And summer means horse shows! I can’t wait to get back in the saddle on a regular basis and start pointing Misty towards some shows. Misty's like, where am I? Oh sh*t, a horse show. My photographer husband comes in handy! 8211; light blue. But as ...
