There was constantly changes made to the route that I will undertook due to the regulations and guidelines set by Guinness World Records . The whole journey had to be completed on foot apart from the inevitable crossing of Cook Strait in which I travelled by ferry to take me to the Start of the South Island. Leg 1 Cape Reinga to Auckland – Distance: 420km Time: 21 days. Ape Reinga, Kaitaia, Kawakawa, Whangarei, Warkworth, Auckland Inc. 1 day of rest. Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura, Cheviot, Christchurch.
