It's not quite a lighthouse. but close. This was taken a few days after the brightest full moon for the next 10 years. The shadows were deep. and those pixels needed to be averaged to reduce the noise. Hence the painted look of the rocks and snow.

With the window open. It was only a matter of time. This image is both a precursor and follow-on. To the August 2006 show that follows. A precursor in that I took the photograph of the darkened window. In San Francisco in 1973. And thought about what it might hold for the next 38 years. A follow-on in that I didn't rediscover the color slide. Until after Mr. Koi and the Stars show. And had developed the methods of putting it together. I must give some credit for the title to Chris Van Allsburg.

Three generations of Fulghums. Before me. all builders and architects. The Florida town I grew up in, Lakeland. Home of many Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. They taught me architecture. I walked Wright's esplanades. At Florida Southern College. I studied in his circular library. Poring over his famous drawings. The drawings often had a seal, a symbol. More of a flourish, by his signature. A simple red square. very elegant. The seal shown here (20.5mm x 20.5 mm). It was given to my uncle who worked with them.
