Monday, 2 June 2008. Anyhow, Pak Beng was a stop off and nothing else, so a quick dinner followed by an early night. Not a lot of choice here anyway since the village is powered by one generator which gets switched off at 10.30pm and the whole place is plunged into silence and darkness. As I say, an odd little place. Which we went swimming and climbing in and the ancient caves at Pak Ou. Oh, should point out that food in Laos is amazing. Better even than Thailand. And the funny thing is that everyone you speak to here says the same, you're just surprised at how fantastic, beautiful, friendly and perfect it is.
