I have helped in these projects by modeling the surfaces or ribs of the typically Canadian shapes. After a successful run of canoes with Bear Mountain Boat Shop. In Peterborough we felt that some sleek woodstrip kayaks should be next. There are five kayaks in the line with various weight capacities and stability requirements. The building process is much the same as for the canoes - mold frames set up on a strongback, with the additional task of building a deck. The woodstrip process gives ultimate freedom in hull shape so no compromises need to be made to accommodate the building material.
