The Brash Lion Roars: "Freakin' Cool Women Society Show!" pre-recording session (and my 900th post!)
http://brashlion.blogspot.com/2009/03/freakin-cool-women-society-show-pre.html
Friday, March 06, 2009. Freakin' Cool Women Society Show! Pre-recording session (and my 900th post! Whoa 900 posts. Well then. Yesterday, Ellie Hino, Lauren Anderson. And I got together to record their bit for Sunday's show, since they won't be around to do it live. It went off amazingly; we were hilarious and cracking up the engineer, Sarah. I think I could riff, or at least listen to them riff, all day with Lauren and Ellie. So, I got the recording home and the sound was all crackly! ROAR TO THE WORLD!

The Brash Lion Roars: FCW Society Show! Lil' Bit O': Lauren Anderson
http://brashlion.blogspot.com/2009/02/fcw-society-show-lil-bit-o-lauren.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. Lil' Bit O': Lauren Anderson. So, I'm doing research for my show on KFAI next week (yes, I have only left myself a week to prepare this show. I'm sure I'll be fine! I have improvisation skills! And in a google search for comedian Lauren Anderson, a contemporary of mine and company member of Brave New Workshop, I found this awesome article. About her performance at the Ivey Awards in 2007. Watch the video! Photo from Star Tribune. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). If you thi...

Stefanie Says: All that was missing was a roast duck that smiled at us
http://stefanie-says.blogspot.com/2010/01/all-that-was-missing-was-roast-duck.html
Monday, January 04, 2010. All that was missing was a roast duck that smiled at us. So then. Now that I got that belated New Year's post out of the way, should I belatedly talk about Christmas? If I'm being totally honest here, KFC is actually pretty good. I mean, it's fried chicken. And delicious, starchy biscuits. How am I going to argue with that? Also, we had fresh brownies for dessert instead of year-old pie, and my older sister ensured we had red wine that wasn't. I am here to make sure her car stil...

Stefanie Says: June 2009
http://stefanie-says.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. In which I finally show you what I've been babbling about for the past month, and then babble about it some more. Is it really Sunday night again already? Well crap; how did that happen? I very much enjoyed my long weekend last week; do I really have to wait until next week for another? Damn Life, she's a cruel and unfair beast sometimes, no? So then. What have I done? Well, since you asked. And here is that same area, bushes gone, grass cleared, area edged and newly planted. I may...

Stefanie Says: September 2009
http://stefanie-says.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Take a sad song and make it better. The radio station I listen to. A Beatles expert accounts for my reaction when they played the number 1 song. Hey Jude. The song that starts out promising enough but then ends with approximately nine and a half gratingly repetitive minutes of "Na, na, na, na-na-na-na! Hey-ay Jude. (JudyJudyJudyJudeJudyJude! Better than all other Beatles songs? It occurs to me that my dad once voiced that exact same complaint about Hey Jude,. Because every ...

Stefanie Says: December 2009
http://stefanie-says.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. In which I try to remember what I did all year, and realize I didn't do much all year. That was hilarious, in retrospect. My best intentions and estimations slay me at times, really. Hopped on a Flurrious bandwagon and proclaimed myself a Spinster Blogger. Note: I am still waiting for my Prius, as well as my crock pot.) Tried to up my dairy intake via buttercream frosting. Learned that there really is a web site for everything. Watched two lovely friends get engaged. Went out...

The Brash Lion Roars: The Mother of All Funk Chords
http://brashlion.blogspot.com/2009/03/mother-of-all-funk-chords.html
Wednesday, March 11, 2009. The Mother of All Funk Chords. I found this on a blog I admittedly don't read. As much as I probably should:. Unsolicited tip for media company c-levels: if your reaction to this crate of magic is “Hm. I wonder how we’d go about suing someone who ‘did this’ with our IP? 8221; instead of, “Holy crap, clearly, this is the freaking future of entertainment,” it’s probably time to put some ramen on your Visa and start making stuff up for your LinkedIn page. Bringin' the Cheese: August 2011
http://bringingthecheese.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. Day 241 - Roast Lamb. For those who might be a bit squeamish at seeing an entire roasted lamb on a spit, I'm only posting this . . . but trust me, it was delicious. On the waterfront in Tacoma is the Museum of Glass. A relatively new museum dedicated to contemporary glass art. Being outside the museum at sunrise unfortunately meant it wasn't open yet to visitors, but the light was perfect for the cone that houses the glassblowing Hot Shop. Labels: Museum of Glass. Day 239 - Spider.
