Steve's journey back to health after his brain aneurysm July, 2011. Sunday, July 31, 2011. His First Venture Out of Bed. Steve was slid out of bed today into a neurology chair, a huge recliner. He was belted in for safety. The staff wanted him to use different muscles by sitting than by being in bed. He was moving his feet and hands (still mitted! Was answering “yes/no” questions from his company and the medical staff. He was groggy, but understanding people. Steve on a Summer Day. Saturday, July 30, 2011.

She attended therapy sessions with Steve and is trained on how to walk with him with the cane and a supporting belt. Steve's journey back to health after his brain aneurysm July, 2011. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. One More Step in the Right Direction. One of Steve's exercises today was to eat real food. He was able to swallow! He drank 4 ounces of milk and ate some pureed chicken. He can't eat on his own and he still has the feeding tube at night to make sure he's getting enough nutrition. The feeding tube will stay in for six weeks past his eating exercises and successes. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Not Much to Report.

He did well. He and Nancy played Uno today, and he did fairly well with the colors. Then he went out to the courtyard to enjoy the lovely, cool evening. His cousin Debby came to visit.
