Name - Mike Smith. I enjoy computer(ing)(s), my guitars, my motorcycle, gaming in general, all kinds of music, sci-fi, reading, and just generally being lazy. Wednesday, August 17, 2011. I'm not gonna lie.I love me some Wil Wheaton. I read his blog. I read his books. I listen to his podcast. I follow him on Twitter. I follow his Tumblr. And 2) Who is going to read this anyway? Probably just the 2 people who follow the link from my facebook post. I don't know, so I'm an atheist libertarian. My kinds of mu...

Lessons Learned by a Software Tester: Salary Thieves
http://swtester.blogspot.com/2013/04/salary-thieves.html
Lessons Learned by a Software Tester. Yesterday I attended a Waterloo Agile Lean. Session on Story Mapping presented by Mark Levison. I had heard of Story Mapping but hadn't worked through it before. I liked the hands-on exercises approach Mark took to help us understand the process and benefits of that technique. This blog post is not. I love learning and take any opportunity I can to hear different speakers present on topics that I think may be of value. Sometimes I even attend the same. I tasked the s...

Dang, it's been a whole week since I've posted! Glenda and I went shopping for accessories this weekend. She bought this jacket. Which looks good on her, some boots. And two helmets. One half helmet. He's a real nice guy and has reasonable prices. I did buy these boots. Today, though. :). Mom, Dad, Stacey (my sister), and...

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.". 7/6/15, 2:12 PM. I'd intended to call this post, "Summer of Suck," but I'm trying to be a little less negative. Two weeks ago I was out walking Bodhi when he started one of his silly, high-speed sprints in a circle at the end of his very long leash. He screamed, which is a sound I'd never heard a dog make before and hope to never hear again, and fell at my feet. It turns out he very likely tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). I'd been planning to head u...

Personally I quite like it but then I'm fortunate enough to have a 17". I think the Windows XP. Exhibit A: The Welcome Screen. To begin, click your user name.

Long Hauls and Close Calls. Above photo courtesy of ihasahotdog.com. Hope they don't mind. Anyway, I figured I would jump right back in with an extended rant about my fellow drivers. Surprising, right? I grew up watching 'The Bear' coach football at Alabama. I understand that defense wins ballgames, ok? There are no lights...

Name - Mike Smith. I enjoy computer(ing)(s), my guitars, my motorcycle, gaming in general, all kinds of music, sci-fi, reading, and just generally being lazy. Friday, August 15, 2008. Last week I traveled to Toronto, Ontario for an equipment inspection. It was a pretty nice trip, except for when I got waved into immigration at the airport. I've flown into Canada twice, and both times I got the wave. So, I'm either really unlucky, or I look highly suspicious. The dome was retracted and the weather. It is ...
