Statement | STEVEN ALEXANDER
http://www.stevenalexanderstudio.com/pages/statement
Paintings are specific visual events that accrue significance. By their persistent ability to engage the viewer through time. Built out of color and substance, they create places for the. Viewer's consciousness, where unexpected resonances may. Occur, and where the stuff of life and love has corporeal. Presence - potential states of being, embodied in paint.

Tamar Zinn : October 2014
http://tamarzinn.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 18, 2014. Altoon Sultan McKenzie Fine Art. After following Sultan’s work for several years via her blog and FB, I was delighted to see the exhibition at McKenzie Fine Art. In New York (up through November 16). I first wrote about Sultan’s work two years ago here. Highlighting her prints (potato and cardboard) and textiles (hooked wool drawings and textiles), which demonstrated her facility working with simple forms and at times pedestrian materials to produce bold and playful images.
Tamar Zinn : May 2015
http://tamarzinn.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. Conversations Type of Abstraction @ Key Projects. Lately, I’ve noticed myself noticing how I look at art – very much a metacognitive approach to viewing. Why do I spend so much time with this piece, but not the one next to it by the same artist? What about the piece pulls me in initially, and then compels me to take another look? Why am I indifferent to some work after the first look? What am I looking at? What am I seeing? An exhibit featuring the work of Anke Becker. Although cert...

Wednesday, February 14, 2007. One last trip more of Spain! We decided to do a last European adventure in Spain, spending a few days in Barcelona visiting with friends and then meeting up with Jo in Seville to do a driving trip around Andalucia. I would love this to be my home! That was the most touristy thing we did in Barcelona, we spent the rest of the time catching up with Sonsoles, Llorenc, Joan and Marta, eating delicious food and being entertained by their very cute kids!
