Bobby & Katie: "For me, coming back to school means..."
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2010/01/for-me-coming-back-to-school-means.html
Monday, January 18, 2010. For me, coming back to school means.". I've had a rough couple of weeks. there was school situation drama, then more drama, then a quick and easy solution and then even more drama! I'm anxious to see what the next few weeks bring. I wrote up a kid for the first time EVER last week, which kinda made me sad, but in a way made me feel like there was hope. Most of my discipline books say "removal is the best strategy" but I don't have anywhere to "remove" the kids to! Speaking of le...

Bobby & Katie: Student teaching memories...
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2009/09/student-teaching-memories.html
Sunday, September 20, 2009. I found a journal entry from when I was student teaching today. it was from the days I was subbing by myself and the kids watched The Newsies. The answers were pretty funny, and I just couldn't help but share them. February 12, 2008. Why does a man chase Jack with the police? The police chases Jack because he is a refugee. What happens at the end of the newsies rally? The popo comes and they run. Why doesn't Crutchie want to leave the Refuge? Crutchie likes being a refuge.

Bobby & Katie: My brain hurts.
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2009/09/my-brain-hurts.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Pray that I get over this crud soon. I don't ever stop, so when my health forces me to, it gets me all bent out of shape. Oh, and I'm teaching art AND music now. Yeah. That's fun. I passed my test so hopefully the other lady passes hers so I don't have to switch schools at semester. That is, after all, why I'm teaching art. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bobby & Katie: Ah, the big quarter-century
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2009/11/ah-big-quarter-century.html
Sunday, November 15, 2009. Ah, the big quarter-century. Tomorrow's my 25th birthday. I'm not quite sure I'm old enough to be 25, but the Gregorian Calendar says I am, so who am I to argue? I do think we should get cooler age-defining privileges than "renting a car" though. That's a pretty lame "reward" for making it this far if you ask me. It's been a crazy month and a half since I last posted. Here's a "quick" update:. Well, until that last week when they add starches and breads! The Promise finished st...

Bobby & Katie: New Year, New Blog Post
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2010/01/new-year-new-blog-post.html
Friday, January 1, 2010. New Year, New Blog Post. I'm terribly sorry for not writing more often, but we've either been too busy or not busy at all. Here's what's happened since my birthday. We hosted our first Thanksgiving at our new house. It was rather successful- even with a 2 year old in tow. (No, he wasn't ours. a family friend's grandson). I had a high school choir reunion right before break started. it was just as weird as I thought it would be! Which ensembles, what schedule, should I work full t...

Bobby & Katie: Getting better
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2009/10/getting-better.html
Saturday, October 3, 2009. Just adding a few flowers and greenery to my poster-covered room made it seem SO much more homey. Silly HGTV and saying fake plants are tacky. If it weren't for the stale white tile, beige walls, and infestation of dust and germs, I would totally bring in a few cooshy chairs and snuggle up with a good book. I see every single kid twice a week in that room, and while 15 kids can mess up a homeroom classroom, 460 can do much more germy damage. But enough about that.

Bobby & Katie: Blog fail.
http://777porterhouse.blogspot.com/2010/06/blog-fail.html
Sunday, June 20, 2010. Oh my, has it really been 6 months of "radio silence" on this blog! My sincere apologies for leaving you all out in the cold! I'll do my best to update what I can remember. February - it was cold and it snowed. A LOT. While I was out of town at a convention, Bobby sent me this picture of our lovely home. 115 inches in N. Texas. Craziness! Out with the old. And in with the new! My doctor and I are convinced that this should take care of my constant sickness and the best part? Neinas...
