Stevens Surviving PKD

This is how big James' kidneys are. A regular kidney is the size of a fist. Wednesday, April 13, 2011. James was finally brought down to the ninth floor (the kidney floor) by that afternoon. The difference between a transplant recipient and the donor is striking. His IV was the biggest I have ever seen. It had six different regulators all going at once. He had massive amounts of tubes plus the catheter and bag. It's amazing he was able to walk at all! That was very true. He was great. After sitting there...

Stevens Surviving PKD: Last Night

http://www.stevenssurvivingpkd.blogspot.com/2011/03/last-night.html

This is how big James' kidneys are. A regular kidney is the size of a fist. Monday, March 7, 2011. We have made it! We took our time driving to Phoenix and had a nice last meal. We stayed the night at a little hotel on the hospital grounds. It's really just a hallway of rooms inside a medical plaza, but it's right next to the hospital. We will be staying there again when we get released. March 13, 2011 at 4:57 PM. I was talking to you the night before the surgery, so I didnt check your blog!

Stevens Surviving PKD: Surgery Day

http://www.stevenssurvivingpkd.blogspot.com/2011/03/surgery-day.html

This is how big James' kidneys are. A regular kidney is the size of a fist. Friday, March 25, 2011. After sitting there for 2 hours, we finally realized that we weren't the first surgery of the day after all. I'm not quite sure why they asked us to be there at 5, but oh well. I exclaimed, "Is that where my kidney goes? Hurry Up and Wait.

Stevens Surviving PKD: How I Became a Kidney Donor - Part 2

http://www.stevenssurvivingpkd.blogspot.com/2011/02/how-i-became-kidney-donor-part-2.html

This is how big James' kidneys are. A regular kidney is the size of a fist. Friday, February 25, 2011. How I Became a Kidney Donor - Part 2. For me that is not to true because I get to have my wonderful husband back. I don't have to watch him suffer anymore. My children get to have their father back and hopefully someday soon we will get to move on with our lives together. That's all I have ever asked for, so getting to be the person that makes that happen is actually an honor. Are We Having Fun Yet?

Growing in age but not in Spirit. Jan 22, 2010. I have learned a few things about being prego and almost 30. 1- All the energy you are supposted to get back in your 2nd and 3rd trimesters where long used up by the 4 yr old in the first trimester. 2- The regular aches and pains seem just a little more important to pay attention to ( I have had myself almost conviced a few times that I'm in labor. at 30 weeks is not a good thing). 4- All in all Laughter is the only way to survive. Sunday brought the Primary Program. The kids did a great job on their parts and singing their little hearts out. My favorite part was when they had the Priesthood brethren sing "Praise t...As fo...

Growing in age but not in Spirit. Oct 14, 2009. Usually I'm all for pretending and the fun things that come from imagination. Our house has always been full of imaginary friends and fun adventures that come with the make believe. Needless to say I enjoy playing the pretend game as much as any kid does. But, I have recently been schooled on another kind of pretend that is not so fun. So I’m looking forward to when the pretend game doesn’t end up with the child stuck in her room for a whole day. So far the...
