'Steve n Hayleys Place'
http://steventownley.co.uk/play/play.html
These are a few of the things we most enjoy doing in our free time. You can also see lots of these activities in the Diary and Photos page. The nearby Peak District, Lake District and Snowdonia National Parks make this an accessible and fun way to keep fit and experience the great outdoors. Is how Steve escapes when it's too wet/cold/miserable to go riding. Sadly the longstanding Buzz Club closed down after 14 years of bringing comedy to Manchester. But we we still enjoy a good laugh elsewhere.

Two pink lines...: Overdue again
http://halesbrit.blogspot.com/2007/08/over-due-again.html
A blog of Hayley's pregnancy. From the two pink lines onwards. Thursday, August 09, 2007. My friend has just picked up Oliver for a few hours, so I thought I'd write a quick blog as it may well be another six months before I get another chance. I have found this pregnancy. So much harder than with Oliver mainly. Who told me the IVF. Had not worked. I told Steve and he said it puts things into perspective because when you hear something like that we realize how lucky we are. Posted by Hayley @ 4:08 PM.
Life begins...: Things to do with the kids: Museum of Science and Industry
http://life-begins.blogspot.com/2010/01/things-to-do-with-kids-museum-of.html
Monday, January 18, 2010. Things to do with the kids: Museum of Science and Industry. Manchester has a great industrial heritage and a place in history as the one of the cradles of of the industrial revolution. So it is fitting that it is home to the Museum of Science and Industry. Our trip there (one rainy day last November) only took in perhaps half of what there is to see. Here's what we managed. The 1830 wharehouse - with Victorian Sewer complete with smells. Labels: things to do with the kids. That ...
Life begins...: Holding out for a (Super) Hero
http://life-begins.blogspot.com/2010/02/holding-out-for-super-hero.html
Friday, February 05, 2010. Holding out for a (Super) Hero. Oliver loves super-heroes at the moment. If he watches TV he asks for a super-hero show. His games are often about saving people and involve his Power Ranger and Transformer figures (when he's not pretending to be Spiderman climbing the walls). Our Flickr account is peppered with photos of him as dressed as Superman, Batman, Spiderman. I last played about four years ago. So last night I put that right and turned out for a friendly game with some ...
Life begins...: A day old
http://life-begins.blogspot.com/2007/08/day-old.html
Thursday, August 16, 2007. Lucy is now a day old. Already she looks a little different. Yesterday people often asked me "who does she look like? My ususal answer was "none of us"! I honestly couldn't say she reminded me of either of us on first inspection. But today she looks a little different. One midwife said to me "oh she looks like you now you've put that woolly hat on her". Another saw a picture of Oliver and said "don't they look alike, they have the same shaped face". Hayley has started breastfee...
Life begins...: Thunderbirds are Go!
http://life-begins.blogspot.com/2010/02/thunderbirds-are-go.html
Wednesday, February 24, 2010. I'm not sure when I first told Oliver about the joys of Thunderbirds. Thanks to the benefits of digital photography, I know he had this costume 16 months ago. I know he heard and liked the theme music around the same time. I also know he had never actually seen an episode. until last weekend. In contrast, excerpts of Spiderman 3 featuring Toby Maguire strike the whole family as cartoon-like in their storyline and drama while never once leaving any of us feeling frightened.

STEVEN TOWNSEND BRIGGS
My films focus on dysfunctional, if not subversive, characters that live and work in the margins of society. Each piece explores individuals as they struggle against their unique surroundings. I am interested in the idea of isolation as means of personal freedom. Women and men who must confront themselves in order to connect with others and succeed in new ways.
