Steve's Geek Projects: LCD - Basic Stamp Microcontroller

http://stevesgeekprojects.blogspot.com/2009/01/lcd-basic-stamp-microcontroller.html

A history of geek projects created by me. Thursday, January 29, 2009. LCD - Basic Stamp Microcontroller. I purchased a nice 4 X 20 Character LCD off of Ebay for a much better price than most other sites. (look up www.web4robot.com for the LCD). As you can see, it's up and running on the first night! I noticed a few errors in the manual, so I improvised and figured out that PBASIC used $FE instead of 0xFE commands. (the 0x = $ for all the hex code). Little bit of tweaking and I created an ASCII character.

Steve's Geek Projects: Box Computer Project

http://stevesgeekprojects.blogspot.com/2009/01/box-computer-project.html

A history of geek projects created by me. Sunday, January 11, 2009. Ever wanted a computer that looks more like a decorative piece rather than an ugly box? Me too. I was looking for a computer to put in my entertainment center that would not stand out too much. Here is the box I decided to work with. $20 from TJMaxx. My work area at the time was my coffee table, and yes, I did use my couch to muffle the sound of the jigsaw when the time came. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Steve's Geek Projects: XBox Project

http://stevesgeekprojects.blogspot.com/2009/01/xbox-project.html

A history of geek projects created by me. Sunday, January 11, 2009. The 'standard' Xbox system is pretty much a computer and the controller ports are modified USB ports. Since I have an aversion to green (especially in LED's! I decided to give this guy a makeover. GEEK STYLE. Phase 1: Change All LED"s to BLUE. Phase Two: Fix the 'jewel' to be frosted clear and. BLUE. Night shot with error message. Phase Three: Add the skin. There's no way I was going to allow the XBox controller to be green.

Steve's Gear & Music Blog

Steves Gear and Music Blog. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Ibanez Andy Timmons AT10PSB. So for the longest time I've been wanting to put together a guitar with some very specific qualities. A) Andy Timmons Pickup set (Dimarzio Cruisers and AT humbucker). B) Thick Maple Neck - As I've discussed in the past. I would love the Ibanez AT10: Maple Neck, and 'somehow' get it to fit on a Stratocaster body. C) I'd love to put it all in a Satin Blue Stratocaster Body (yes still want one of those. The tuners had been upg...

Steve's GIS

Wednesday, February 18, 2009. I just saw an article that discussed an interesting use of GIS: A theory to capture Osama bin Laden! See MIT link to the right. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. This version of the Bike Routes map uses fill colors and road symbols created for a new "personal" style, that can be accessed with any of the pre-existing styles in ArcMap. I found that some subdued colors that looked good together in Kuler didn't show up very well when put onto the map. Sunday, November 23, 2008. I used...
