The Job - Steve Stoeckel's blog

http://www.stevestoeckel.typepad.com/blog/2016/08/the-job.html

News from the frontal: battle reports from the never-ending war between my brain hemispheres. The bus is crowded, just one seat left. Shes near the window and moves her pocketbook as I squeeze in next to her. Grey hair, pulled back tight in a bun. Slim frame, sitting upright, not touching the back of the seat. She has a no-nonsense face; the expression is a teacher telling the class to stay late, and she stares at the bus driver, who is dealing with late arrivers. She pulls the envelope out and puts it b...

News from the frontal: battle reports from the never-ending war between my brain hemispheres. Whats it like out there these days, I asked. He thought I meant the weather. Oh, you mean, whats it like being a cop? Sometimes, if I have time to talk, I ask a repair customer what his day gig is. When I see a uniform, I dont have to guess. Ive had many good and interesting conversations with cops, those still on the job and those retired. Its kind of like voting, he said. And then walked out the door and up th...

News from the frontal: battle reports from the never-ending war between my brain hemispheres. It was in a Minnesota movie theater in 1963 when I first suspected I was a Southerner.  I was a boy of mixed heritage - my father a New Yorker of German ancestry, my mother born and raised in the Scots- Irish piedmont  of North Carolina. In a few years we moved to Charlotte, where my grandparents lived, a place we had visited often, the stepfather now history.  I was home. This Southern Boy would appreciate it.

Where I Was - Steve Stoeckel's blog

http://www.stevestoeckel.typepad.com/blog/2016/11/where-i-was.html

News from the frontal: battle reports from the never-ending war between my brain hemispheres. The world was black and white. Thats the first thing you have to know; color existed only in your immediate field of vision and what you remembered from previous days spent at school or the ice skating pond and other confines of your tiny town,  halfway up the Minnesota border to Canada. Its Oswald who finally does me in. Were all watching the moment when, as hes being transferred to the county jail, Ruby sh...

News from the frontal: battle reports from the never-ending war between my brain hemispheres. Oriental food markets are time machines. I walked into one yesterday for sushi supplies and I was eight years old, following my dad around and holding a plastic basket as we went up and down the aisles of a tiny store somewhere in Miami. I nod, mute, staring at the crabs. My dad doesnt speak Chinese (aside from his attempts to thank the ladies, which always gets amused looks), but he knows which cans he wants, a...

Steve's Stock Trades

Thursday, April 10, 2014. The market opened this morning at 8:30. There are always strong trades at the start of the day so I was happy when I saw a wedge forming. It was at that point that I knew I would be long or short depending on the pressure it was showing me. Click to download full size image. I easily scored 20 ticks from the premarket wedge on the TF as can be seen in the image. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Bounce up with Solutia. As always thanks for reading. Saturday, February 5, 2011.
