http://abusymum.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-blanket.html
The potterings and projects of one busy mum and family, on our journey through life for sustainable happiness, wherever that takes us. About our Journey 2011. Saturday, 25 January 2014. One blanket made, sewn up and posted to Canada- it got there safely, just a week later than Royal Mail said.My sister reckons Royal Mail just don't understand Canada Post. I had lots of help getting the blanket to lie straight for photographing- can you tell? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Busy Days: A quick sew
http://abusymum.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-quick-sew.html
The potterings and projects of one busy mum and family, on our journey through life for sustainable happiness, wherever that takes us. About our Journey 2011. Thursday, 2 January 2014. Princess kept Rainbow busy for a spell this afternoon, so I dusted off my machine and took in the side seams and darts on some of my new work uniforms. The darts are in the wrong place, but my expertise ( and time) didnt allow for taking out the originals and putting them in the right place to fit me. My last blog post here.

Friday, 15 June 2012. Riven Oak Demi Vase - a prototype. I've been developing my riven oak vase idea, which first started at the Contemporary Coppice workshops with Charlie Whinney in February 2012. Since that workshop, Charlie asked me to make 20 jam jar riven oak vases for his wedding, and this was great practice at riving and developing the general idea. I did an Oak Swill Basket making course with Owen Jones. There is an enormous amount of manipulating of the riven oak strips, hard on the hands, wris...

Alastair Dargue: November 2012
http://alastairdargue.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, 16 November 2012. No, I haven't had the paint out recently! These are natural colours created by time. This bent branch spoon is damson from a branch I found which had been cut off last year. The wood was fairly dry and hard as hell to work. The pink is a layer just under the bark so I left it on to show the natural curve of the bowl rim. This next one is in Hawthorn which is carved green and left for the sap to stain the surface to a lovely golden brown. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). MYSTERY OF TH...
