Web Design and Development. JQuery Animation jumps in Chrome, Safari and on iPad. March 18, 2012. When using the jQuery animate function to move manipulate an elements position on the DOM I started getting a strange jump effect in Chrome, Safari and on the iPad where the animation would fail and the element would jump from it’s starting position to it’s end position.
