Gofua: Good Future Africa. Meet en Greet met de weeskinderen. Dinsdag 30 april 2013. Dans uitgevoerd door groepen vanuit andere dorpen. Vandaag was het in Nederland een belangrijke dag, die van de troonswisseling. Wij hebben daar wat van meegekregen via CNN. Gekleed in oranje of met een oranje attribuut hebben wij dat dus ook gevierd. Aangezien we veel contact hebben met meneer Tangy, een prins van het fondom, en ook omdat daar ons waterproject is gerealiseerd werden we met de hele groep uitgenodigd.

In Nederland kennen wij het concept Winkelcentra - en dat roept een bepaald beeld op. Ook kennen wij de markt - vooral de weekmarkt - en voor velen is dat een routine en levensgewoonte die niet weg is te denken uit ons bestaan. We proberen tegenwoordig at milieu vriendelijker onze boodschappen te ontvangen door zelf een tasje mee te nemen en daardoor het plastic afval te verminderen.

Gisteravond is het grootste deel van de koffers ingepakt. Gelukkig hoeven we nu niet zo op het gewicht van de koffers te letten. Tenslotte nemen we altijd veel meer mee, dan dat we mee terug nemen. Samen met de lokale bevolking hebben Joke en Jaap, door financiële hulp aan te bieden, ervoor gezorgd dat de dorpelingen een goede watervoorziening kregen. Deze week zijn de kinderen elke avond naar de manege geweest van de Ponyvrienden. In Hattem. Ze mogen van alles leren. De pony uit de weide halen, voeren, borstelen, zadelen en rijden. De eerste avonden is het niet zo mooi weer en gaan ze in het bos rijden. Daarna volgen een paar avonden dat ze in de bak allerlei dingen leren.
