Module Two - Animal Magic. Tuesday, 19 May 2015. Chapter 1 - The study of tone. For the first chapter I have been making a study of tone using different media. I have been asked to do this by making a series of columns in my sketchbook. On page one I have used drawing pencils, Indian ink applied with scrunched up paper, black biro and chunky water soluble crayon. For page two I have used wax crayon rubbing on a basket, black marker pen cross hatching and black and white tissue paper collage.

Using a hole punch and black sugar paper, I have made a column on a white background with the black dots from the hole punch and also with the punched black paper a column of white punched through dots. The bottom half of page three shows a tonal column made from a ripped up photocopied page on butterflies. The bottom of page four is a white and black watercolour pencil scribble column.
