What I Learned...

Life’s Learnings from a run of the mill Mid-Western woman and mother. Monday, October 27, 2014. I envy that little boy who was your first friend.  Oh the laughs and the secrets and the tumbles he must have shared with you. I envy that pig tailed girl who was your first crush. You must have had no idea why you wanted to hold her hand instead of pushing her down. I'm so envious of the first girl who stole your heart. That beauty who not only held your heart, but who also broke it into a million pieces.

What I Learned...: My kids aren't the most important thing in my life......

http://stillnotfinishedlearning.blogspot.com/2014/09/my-kids-arent-most-important-thing-in.html

Life’s Learnings from a run of the mill Mid-Western woman and mother. Monday, September 15, 2014. My kids aren't the most important thing in my life. And that makes me a better mom. I became a mom at the tender age of 18. I was young and naive and knew exactly what I needed to do to be the best mom, wife, daughter there was. Seriously.I like to look at that Anessa and say "aww.honey.have another cookie" while patting her on the head. What about person or teacher or whatever else that had to do with me go?

What I Learned...: Empty Nester

http://stillnotfinishedlearning.blogspot.com/2014/09/empty-nester.html

Life’s Learnings from a run of the mill Mid-Western woman and mother. Sunday, September 21, 2014. But then there are days when all you long for are the tiny voices yelling out "Mom! Down the hall. Or the TV blaring television shows that you wouldn't watch by choice but get sucked into and even enjoy. Even the ever asked question of "What is for dinner? Which I usually dread because frankly, I rarely know what 's for dinner. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

What I Learned...: Depression is a Bitch

http://stillnotfinishedlearning.blogspot.com/2013/10/depression-is-bitch.html

Life’s Learnings from a run of the mill Mid-Western woman and mother. Thursday, October 10, 2013. Depression is a Bitch. I can feel it coming back. I can see, when the kids aren't here, and the house is quiet and lonely, I can see it creeping in. I know what it looks like, what it smells like, what it tastes like. I can hear it's short comments in my ear. I can feel the tightness in my muscles from where it's squeezing its way in. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Still not driving

Sunday, April 14, 2013. Babies are born aliens. Squirming, transparent, unintelligible. They are born coated in slime, and they maintain that alien nature for months. Babies are not really human. Or at the very least, they’re not really people. I didn’t much love being a mother of two babies, at the same time. 8221; – a first ever grammatical sentence. He’s kept doing it since: “Mummy what you doing? 8221; “Daddy gone shops.” I am shocked. We are twins, and we control you! The tantrums don’t merit ...

'Not From Here,' stories by Nathan Deuel

039;Not From Here,' stories by Nathan Deuel. Don't be lazy. New York Review of Books. December 6, 2010 • 2:24 pm. I felt weak in the knees. An Iraqi girl sized me up with a hardened glare. What did you expect? Her eyes seemed to inquire, and I let my head fall. Over the years, good friends went in and out as correspondents; a few even served as soldiers. But with time, the conversation veered to other wars. Read the rest of this entry ». September 12, 2010 • 12:12 pm. September 1, 2010 • 6:43 pm. It&#821...

Stillnotfussed is about books and culture and life. The long delay in publishing Haruki Murakami’s first two novels proves well worth the wait. August 6, 2015. A new Haruki Murakami. They are in fact Murakami’s debut works, the first two volumes of the Rat Trilogy which were, at his request, never published outside of Japan. Murakami described them as. Resonated ac...
