STILL WAVES

He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29. Sunday, March 16, 2014. Letting go.again, and again. Many years ago, when my husband and I were taking in foster children, God taught me a great lesson in trusting Him with our children. Whether biological, adoptive, or foster, ALL children are HIS. And He entrusts us to care for His children with an open hand always ready to give them back to Him. He asked me to trust Him and let them go. And then, all at once, it happened. Where is my value?

STILL WAVES: April 2008

http://www.stillwaves.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29. Friday, April 11, 2008. It's where I get my middle name, Jo. I have her hips and slender body. She reminded me often that I was the only grandchild to know her first husband. Somehow, that made me feel special. She loved me and wasn't afraid to show it. There was no question, no doubt of her love for me. And now she's gone. She passed away on March 10th of this year. She was in her late 80's. I miss you, Grammy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

STILL WAVES: Simplify

http://www.stillwaves.blogspot.com/2008/11/simplify.html

He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. I long for simplicity and have. Written of it before. And how it seems to be always just outside my grasp. But yet, I know God is calling me to. And He spoke it again today through a new friend. Mary got straight to work and gently asked me why I needed FOUR calendars. (one in the office, two day timers, and the kitchen calendar) When I didn't have a ready answer she said, "Kari, just think. The text says "Martha...

STILL WAVES: A New Year; A New Perspective

http://www.stillwaves.blogspot.com/2013/01/a-new-year-new-perspective.html

He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29. Monday, January 7, 2013. A New Year; A New Perspective. But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. As you can surmise from my previous post. Non-Fiction (let's FIX this). Bible Studies (just get in the Word more, Kari! A stack of books begins to grow like a giant beanstalk by my bedside, the ...

STILL WAVES: January 2008

http://www.stillwaves.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29. Thursday, January 3, 2008. Gift From the Sea-part one. The book, originally written in the 50's, but so relevant for today, is her journal, of sorts, of time spent on the beach reconnecting with herself, God, and finding that inner-balance that we as women so desperately seek. She uses the term "shedding" to describe how she must get to a simpler life. From page 25 she writes,. So what do I plan to shed this year? Galatians 5: 1,18. It was fo...

Living Below the Line... | From May 16-20, I'm going to live on $1.50 a day

Living Below the Line…. From May 16-20, I'm going to live on $1.50 a day. Thoughts, feelings and conclusions…. May 27, 2011. It’s been almost a whole week since this challenge ended for me. I had the best of intentions to post a follow-up entry on this blog before now. THE BEST OF INTENTIONS! But it’s been a busy week. Although some would argue that’s no excuse for my lack of follow-up…except that it is. Also, bite me. So I came into this challenge with my guns blazing. You're no match for my guns! I was...

You still have the waves in your eyes

You still have the waves in your eyes.
