"Tangerine" Dress - Stitchery Dickery Dock

http://stitcherydickerydock.weebly.com/blog/tangerine-dress

I forget when exactly I started working on this dress- either late January or early February. I put it down in the middle and when I picked it up again it still took me two weeks to finish it. Apparently, I was. Feeling in a very "sew-y" mood. I don't have any "in-progress" shots. Anyway, I used this pattern:. A 1940's girl's pattern. I am still working on the best technique for these side closures.I have yet to be completely satisfied with one of them. Follow my blog with Bloglovin. Create a free website.

1860's Underpinnings: The Corset - Stitchery Dickery Dock

http://stitcherydickerydock.weebly.com/blog/1860s-underpinnings-the-corset

1860's Underpinnings: The Corset. Both of us girls needed new corsets. I knocked one of two of the list sometime back in September or early October. The other I addressed more recently and actually remembered to take in-progress photos of this one! I had intended to use a piece of cream twill that I had laid aside for this particular project.but I COULD NOT find it, so I used a double-layer technique. A lighter-weight cotton print and a heavy-duty muslin. I essentially quilted the pieces together.

Stitchery and Such

Friday, August 7, 2015. Nathan Philips Square decorated for PanAm Games. It was great to finally visit my family. It had been four years since I'd last been out to Toronto. And I missed so much! The city has grown, especially on the periphery where homes mushroom like weeds. There was much knitting as there was lots of waiting in airports, on airplanes (I am not a good flyer- not one bit) and in subways. And of course I got to shop at one of the best yarn shops- ever! Knitting, tea and good company.

Stitchery Dickery Dock - Blog

I confess I did little to no research on this particular aspect of wardrobe building beyond noticing belts on dresses. This was a real easy little project: I took my waist measurement, added about two inches in length and cut out a roughly four inch wide piece of black Kona cotton (I got Kona, despite the extra price because it's heavier and I figured I want a belt to stand up to some wear and tear and buckle changes). Modern dress.don't mind it. ;). I did tiny little whip-stitches along the inner edge o...

Stitchery Dickory Dock — Cuckoo for Quilting

The Woman Behind the Blog. The Appliqued Curves Method- New Quilts & A Tutorial. June 19, 2015. Well, I finally got that Apple Blossom mini quilt that was featured in McCall’s Quilting a few months back, put together into a full quilt pattern. One task down, 963 to go. This had definitely been near the top of my to-do list for awhile, A) because I adore it, and B) because I received so many lovely comments and requests about it! Last week). Essentially it’s just the use of freezer paper machine...1 To st...

Thursday, 30 July 2015. I Spy with my little eye. A chicken, a cow, a goldfish. Cakes. Mmmmm. A dog, a bone, paw prints. A cat, a penguin, a bird house. A boy. Anyone interested in a kitchen update? It has been worth all the mess and upheaval and it is fabulous. A very glamorous kitchen. No, it is not a tv but a rather good extractor fan. Back to the stitching. Links to this post. Sunday, 21 June 2015. So many tracks to choose from and I hope the link works. Sunday Girl by Blondie. I am using no. 16 ...
