Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Waiting in a Hospital Again. They gave me a buzzer like they use at restaurants to let me know when she is out of her test. When that sucker goes off, we're outta here like birds heading south out of Minnesota in the fall. Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: February 2011
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Monday, February 21, 2011. A full blown Norwegian Minnesotan friend of mine was making his first visit to Texas a while back (George W. was still in office). Since I had lived in that glorious state twice in my lifetime, and had lived to tell about it, I decided to give my friend some advice on what to prepare for and how to behave. Below are the contents of my "Texas Survival Rules" for him. 1 Repellent. You will need it. 8226; Scorpion repellent,.

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: There’s Nothing Wrong with it … (with apologies and props to Jimmy Buffet)
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2010/04/theres-nothing-wrong-with-it-with.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Monday, April 12, 2010. There’s Nothing Wrong with it … (with apologies and props to Jimmy Buffet). It bugged me. Yes I am out of shape. I’m very over weight at the moment. I hate that fact. I have to admit that I need exercise, and this is a beautiful place. The weather is great and it wouldn’t hurt me—it wouldn’t hurt us to take the cue and get up and do something physical. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Rage against the dying of the light!

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: November 2009
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Monday, November 16, 2009. BECOMING A CONNOISSEUR OF THE "DELI" SANWICH AND WORSE. I honestly could answer for that day that yes, in fact, I did feel lucky. I probably wouldn't need this extra sandwich this evening, but just in case I did, it didn't look that bad, and the price was right if I ended up discarding it. So out I went with my hospital dinner for the night. I think it's ham," I said. That's mayo," I corrected. Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: Man Handling the Ice Dam
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2011/01/how-man-handles-ice-dam.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Sunday, January 30, 2011. Man Handling the Ice Dam. Want to do it again. So I, like almost every other house owner in our area have been faced with how to get rid of the ice dams. Anyway, my efforts were somewhat successful, and the forced back flow of melting snow was abated for a time. I knew it wouldn’t last, however. As I said earlier, we have had a lot of snow, and that snow has to melt and refreeze some time. Arghh, Arghh, Arghh! So the ugly...

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: MY NEST SEEMS TO BE EMPTY
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2015/05/my-nest-seems-to-be-empty.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Sunday, May 17, 2015. MY NEST SEEMS TO BE EMPTY. There is something I realized lately and feel it would be good to share and/or talk about. My wife Gayle and I, she being the patient, are now in the post treatment and recovery stage of her cancer. It’s great. It is behind us for the most part. Time to get on with life now, she to work and me to? Yeah, that’s the problem. Me to what? And that’s all good. It’s great! Maybe what I need is a new hobby.

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: April 2007
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Meetings Are a Lot Like Enemas. As far as I’m concerned, meetings and enemas have a lot in common. They may both, at times, be necessary, but are definitely a pain in the butt. Neither should be used more than is absolutely essential, and only to keep things moving smoothly. When their use is unavoidable, they should be short and effective, as having to do either again would prove to be a rather uncomfortable experience.

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: I Remember the First Earth Day
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2014/04/i-remember-first-earth-day.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. I Remember the First Earth Day. No Were there other extenuating circumstances? His response was, "It's Earth Day. I decided to choose the least polluting form of transportation I could think of to get to school today." Wow. I don't know how many others were impressed, but I. Definitely was. So much so that I have remembered it to this day. I made a poster. It had trees on it, I think. I don't remember. There are only two w...

Stud Terrapin's Ruminations: What Does That Mean?
http://studterrapin.blogspot.com/2010/04/what-does-that-mean.html
Whatever spews forth from the brain of the Stud Terrapin. Sunday, April 18, 2010. What Does That Mean? The sound was actually a word. Though the sound occupied at least three seconds of time, it was only one word. Her response was, “whu-u-u-u-U-U-UT (what)? I restated louder and with a little more affirmation, “I’m a novice! 8220;Wuz zat meeEEEEEeeeen (What does that mean)? It was here that a million possible answers ran through my mind, like:. 8220;It means your IQ probably is 60.”. I love your posts, D...
