Under the leadership of Pastor Rupprecht, plans were immediately made for the building, not of a church, but of a school, on the plot which the congregation had purchased at the corner of Beech Street and Bagley Road. Meanwhile, services were conducted in old Temperance hall, which was located in downtown Berea, above where Reublin's Grocery Store and later Meyo's were located. Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Strongsville, OH 44149. The group meets in the Gempel Room Sunday mornings at 9:45. Classes are led by Pastor Haugen, with an occasional speaker. This mid-week Bible class meets Tuesdays at 10:00 AM. Bell choir practice is on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM. As the name implies, we ring handbells. We ring several Sundays during the year as well as on Holidays. 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade classes meet on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM. At St John, we are committed to:.
