Pastoral activities at St John’s include undertaking visits for a variety of pastoral situations which could perhaps include visiting those in residential homes, families who have just been involved in baptism and the sick or bereaved. Two members of our Church Family are Lay Chaplains at QEQM Hospital, one works in the Chaplaincy Office and another is a volunteer at the Pilgrim’s Hospice. St John's Pre-School Playgroup. 2nd Place Youth Group. The last 12 months have been very exciting times at our youth group. We have done a big variety of projects from sock bunnies and Christmas gift tags to shaving balloons and activities with our new parachute. We even had a snow fight at our Christmas party! OK it was just shredded paper but it looked as close as we could get! We end the evening with a short time of reflection and bible reading as a group and a chance to talk, relax and prepare for the week ahead. How To Find Us.

We have a rota for each street and road of our parish which we use daily to pray for all the people who live and work there, this includes people of other Christian denominations and people of other faiths. St John’s Church has a long history of providing and supporting projects that serve the needs of the LOCAL COMMUNITY. St John’s Sunday School. St John’s Church Sunday School. When do we meet? Where do we meet? In the St John’s Community Centre (normally in the choir room at the back of the main hall). The Centre is next door to the Church towards the Victoria Road end. What do we do? Children enjoy craft, singing and other activities related to their own learning and worship time, and then are encouraged to present their work to the congregation, before joining in the main service, this is always much appreciated.

Each Monday – Time Out. 11.00am-12.30pm in Church. Informal drop in for tea, coffee and a chat. Take some space in that busy life. All welcome. Monday Bible Study Group meets fortnightly in Church at 7.00pm Please check with Gill (294452) for details of the next meeting. St John’s Pre-School Playgroup runs five days a week(Monday to Friday)9am to 3pm in the Centre. If you would like more information please ring Helen on 224957.
