If you live in the UK, whether in a large city or a small village, you have probably heard the sound of church bells. Bells have formed part of life in this country since the Middle Ages. Church bells are the biggest and loudest musical instruments in the world. Their sound can be heard miles away. From their towers. Bells are rung to call people to church, to celebrate happy occasions and commemorate. Important events. They are also rung simply for the enjoyment of hearing their sound. How do bells work?

The tower contains a ring of 8 bells in the key of F Major, the heaviest bell weighing about three quarters of a ton. Originally a ring of five, they were extensively restored and augmented in 2007. The bells are usually rung for Sunday Service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month 9.40 to 10.30am. We practice on a Monday evenings 7.15pm to 9pm. Visiting ringers are welcome to join us. We also ring for a variety of other events including weddings, funerals, to mark national and local events and for peal. And quarter peal attempts. Details of when the bells will be rung, usually published a minimum of one month in. Advance can be found below.

Mr. Marks Moshi is the sole financial support for the children and orphanage. He earned his master’s degree by focusing on the study of elephants and their behavior.
