Things not to do #194. This is The Baboon, which was a Harry Spankers '99 (RRX) FireBlade. I low-sided it on a nasty off-camber corner at low speed, sliding into the verge, which caused the bike to catapult me into a road sign and then a Hawthorn bush, causing a dislocated knee and a nice collection of haematomas on my right leg and shoulder. To add insult to injury, the bike then rolled on its right side through 360 degrees and hit me in the ribs. Oh, and the guy who helped me up and offered me a spliff.

I was born in the mid-1960s in the City and County of Bristol. My first few days were spent in the baby unit at Keynsham. Which name will be familiar to fans of Radio Luxembourg. To which I used to listen on a little transistor radio under the duvet at night. I grew up through a carefree and happy childhood on the outskirts of Bristol, during which time I broke things, set fire to stuff, did dangerous experiments with combustible compounds in my mate's shed, brewed beer and generally had a right old time.

Are as close to gods as to make no difference! It's such a shame that (in typically British fashion) TiVo's UK marketing sucked so hard. I bought my TiVo brand new on eBay in November 2002 for the knock-down price of 130 pounds, just before Thomson pulled the plug. And I just watch it at my leisure. Marvellous. link.
