Monday, November 3, 2008. Every now and then a dream comes true. From a steaming hot Escondido:). Everything is going just great.maybe a little too great! There has been some exciting new developments in the past week. I am talking about the kind of developments for which one just have to go on your knees and say a prayer of thanks. Thursday kicked off with a big trek to Oceanside in the search for a nice beginner surfboard on which me and Bella could tackle the world-famous Californian waves. We dec...

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. New Look for a New Semester. This new job at the seminary is partly responsible for all the theological links we added to the blog, but we also feel good about sharing this good stuff with all of you:) I also present computer classes to my neighbour which will hopefully help him manage his business more efficiently. He really struggles with health problems, so please pray for him. We also welcomed a big gas grill to the family after a kind neighbour donated it to us when he mo...

Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Greetings to all our friends and family from our new home on the other side of the big blue-and-green marble. We have decided to hang around in the U.S. for a while as our bottoms are making rather strong objections against any mention of transatlantic voyages. 1) Rump-steak (Top-Sirloin as it is called here) turned out to be among the cheaper cuts in America and since that's our favourite it suits us just fine:). 5) Jac is still desperately trying to resolve issues with his vi...

Thursday, January 8, 2009. New year.new mission! We would like to start by wishing all of you a fantastic new year:). We have returned to the much more moderate Escondido after a teeth-chattering white Christmas with our family in Reno, Nevada. The best news is that we managed to trade our 'very very humble' abode for a much bigger place (a palace to be frank) with a separate bedroom.yeeha! We have a mission! We have received good news from the orphanage where Bella volunteered during her time in South A...

Friday, February 27, 2009. After taking Jac Swing Dancing on his actual birthday Bella surprised him with a 4 day Beach camping trip that Jac ended up comparing to his favorite beach in SA, the much appraised "Buffies". 2 Bathing in natural hot spring that smelled like sulfur (poo) and continuing the 6 mile uphill hike in half soaked sulfur clothes with the reward of the most beautiful panoramic view of the Central coast from Gaviota Peak. Panorama stitch at top of post). Posted by Jac Stofberg. Patience...

Monday, July 27, 2009. Whohoooo, Jac placed into Greek Twohooo! A big celebration is in order! I have placed into Greek II today.whohoooo! This does NOT by any means mean that I now consider myself a Greek master and I will definitely be auditing the Greek I class. It saves us quite a few pennies though:). Thank you all for your support. And special thanks to my friend DJ who kept me accountable all this time and minimized my Greek birth pains noticeably by sharing his wisdom. Till next time,. Thank you ...
