Steadily Away: Ilkley Moor
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/06/ilkley-moor.html
Saturday, 6 June 2015. Pathways Pete used to be known as Pet Shop Pete because he owned a pet shop. Now he's changed his name as his new hobby while semi retired is leading runs off road. He has done a great job of encouraging new runners in the club to try off road routes. One of his devotees was telling me this week how lovely it was to discover many local places she never knew were there. He is 75 this year so doesn't do bad! Steadily Away: Thursday
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/07/thursday.html
Thursday, 9 July 2015. Things you notice when you haven't got any one to yack to. Thursday nights are often quite emotional. The relief of almost getting through another week. Tonight, Jo was drinking wine after mountain biking with her husband. She's secretly training to try and keep ahead of me on the hills). So I ran by myself. It was quite late before I got out. The sun was disappearing over the hill. The cows were munching and fortunately ignoring me. I ran home happy. Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog.

Steadily Away: Calderdale Way Relay
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/05/calderdale-way-relay.html
Sunday, 31 May 2015. I don't know if I've ever said, but I don't really like relays. I don't like the faffing around with cars ( it's very unenvironmental leaving cars all over the place) and I don't like the fact you don't actually see all the members of your team. It's not really sociable really. I don't like having to keep up with someone else ( yes I've had the odd bad experience of crawling behind a bounding partner). Well this year it was the Sunday night before the Saturday. As we sat in Camille's...

Steadily Away: Old ones
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/06/old-ones.html
Sunday, 21 June 2015. After going back in time 20 years last night, having a fab time dancing all night to an Indie Resurrection Disco, I needed a nice run to clear the Stone Roses from my head and to stretch my knees out (which are obviously not as bendy as they used to be in the 90s). It was a bit drizzly but I managed to avoid most of the rain. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bowland’s English Champions of 2016. Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog. Just Us and a Few Friends. Steadily Away: February 2015
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 14 February 2015. Hoping in the Dark. I don't mind January and February. It's quite nice rushing towards the light. I have been running. Not enough. It's never enough. I even bought some road shoes (ssh). I haven't done that for a long time. I've been doing some Tuesday nights at the club with a fastish (autocorrect said fascist) women's group. They do a hilly tarmac six miles which really pushes me and must be good for me ( surely? One of the hundreds of ancient, interesting stones on the moor.

Steadily Away: Coniston Fell Race
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/05/coniston-fell-race.html
Sunday, 31 May 2015. This is a fell race I've wanted to do for ages, but have always had other things to do on Bank Holiday Monday weekend. We camped. It was wet. Well actually it was snowy on the tops for the race. The conditions were bad. Clag, snow and wind. What was nice was that everyone stayed in groups and kept together. Thanks to my lovely group, it was actually fun, if a bit slow. The ceilidh was fun although meant my legs were even more achy on Monday. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Advent...

Steadily Away: We're having a heatwave
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/07/we-having-heatwave.html
Wednesday, 1 July 2015. Were having a heatwave. Some things don't change about Wednesday nights. Things like, discussing (arguing about) the route with Kevin; debating the merits of the pub with Paul. Especially if it's an unusual one not found on the - set in stone for years - list); getting slightly lost; making fun of the person who has got us slightly lost; running in the lovely hills we live in; always being glad we went and enjoying the merits of a beer. Somethings are more unusual. Pennine Fell Ru...

Steadily Away: Oxenhope Nab
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/06/oxenhope-nab.html
Thursday, 11 June 2015. The pub run this week was from Oxenhope. A hard climb ( done very steadily) was rewarded by stunning views, drying peat bogs, strange cairns among old quarrys and one of the Stanza stones that I hadn't seen before. Thanks to Steve and Koleen for the photos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bowland’s English Champions of 2016. Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog. Just Us and a Few Friends. Moel Gyw - 27 November. Steadily Away: Petals
http://steadilyaway.blogspot.com/2015/07/petals.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. On Sunday, when we ran, Jo was entranced by a mass of heart shaped petals we found on the floor. Love on the run. Maybe love is the answer.
