A Root in Fiber. Archive for December, 2008. December 22, 2008 · Filed under Uncategorized. Hello to All….and Merry Christmas! Anyways, I’ve got some cool stuff to show…so lets get to it. I’ll try to keep descriptions short, but the list of pictures is long, so ENJOY! Ivy planted in yarn, loose fiber, and felted wool. The word is that these plants died due to lack of nutrients and drainage in their glass containers. A beautiful picture of some lovely plants floating in water. I often catch the most i...

Velma's World: Review: The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
http://velmasworld.blogspot.com/2011/12/review-particular-sadness-of-lemon-cake.html
Thursday, December 29, 2011. Review: The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. My rating: 2 of 5 stars. Ugh I'm glad I didn't pay for this book - yay for ARCs! I can't really put my finger on what went wrong here, but apparently I have a mutation on my chick-lit gene that predisposes my knee to jerk up suddenly when I find myself in the middle of a coming-of-age novel. This recipe has too much sugar for my taste. View all my reviews. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Velma's World: Jumping on Board
http://velmasworld.blogspot.com/2011/08/jumping-on-board.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Can't Help. Myself. I'm jumping on the hexipuff bandwagon! You haven't heard about hexipuffing? I don't believe it! I thought I was the last to succumb to the lure of the blanket comprised of dozens of stuffed cute wee hexagons. The pattern, The Beekeeper's Quilt. Rav link) by Tiny Owl Knits. Has BLOWN UP all over Ravelry. One of the things that pushed me over the edge on making this blanket was a minis swap in the C2S2 group. On Ravelry. Here's what I'm sending out:. I am tryin...

A Root in Fiber. Back in the swing. June 24, 2008 · Filed under Uncategorized. Where I stayed. But perhaps one of the most interesting places I visited in Grenada was a place called Art Fabrik. This little boutique is located on Young Street in Grenada, one of the busiest and most popular streets for shopping. From the left…recycled wax, paraffin wax, and beeswax. These are design templates which are used to trace motifs onto fabric before wax is applied. This is an image of washed batik fabric drying on...
