Views Of Texas: August 2014

Friday, August 15, 2014. Pack this venue with lines down the sidewalk, so this may be the biggest audience Televators have seen thus far. Wish we could have practiced more than 2 hours, seeing as how we haven't played together since Feb 28th. Posted by Keith Alan K. Saturday, August 02, 2014. St Louis Cemetery #1. The main thing I wanted to shoot in NOLA was an above-ground cemetery. Decided to use the F828 infrared camera, and it appears to have been a good choice. The main points are:.

Views Of Texas: Fireworks
http://kaktex.blogspot.com/2015/05/fireworks.html
Saturday, May 09, 2015. We went to a wedding last weekend in Cypress Falls, near Wimberley TX. During the reception the sun was almost down so I went to our motel room for the camera/tripod. Down by the river there wasn't enough artificial light spillage to get anything worth using, but while there I was approached by a man in the dark. He told me I was lucky that he'd spotted me, otherwise I could have gotten "blowed up". Hmmma gay come-on done badly? When I have the time I'll track him down.

Views Of Texas: A Pound Of Reese's Cups
http://kaktex.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-pound-of-reeses-cups.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. A Pound Of Reese's Cups. I first spotted this while Christmas shopping in late 2013 and apparently wouldn't shut up about it. Last month Sylvia put it under our tree for me, and tonight I finally got up the nerve to open it. The text on the side is the important part- 2. I love Reese's, but this is crazy. I'm glad they put them in plastic cups. Still in surprisingly good shape. An 8 oz monster dwarfs the standard size. You just have to stop after a small fraction.

Views Of Texas: April 2014

Wednesday, April 16, 2014. One of my recent diversions has been exploring the capabilities of my phone's camera. It's a Galaxy S3 that I've had for a year now, and with all the attention Samsung has gotten with their "serious" cameras lately I finally got off my ass and took a closer look. It's a fine Texas Springtime, so Bluebonnets are a natural subject:. Overall, not too bad. For a phone. At a recent party I ended up showing other S3 owners what I was doing and they got very. Now that the S5.

Views Of Texas: Father's Day
http://kaktex.blogspot.com/2015/06/fathers-day.html
Sunday, June 21, 2015. My father was an Air Force pilot in the VietNam war. He was shot down over Laos in 1966 a few months before my 4th birthday, and Missing In Action until 1995. Only have a few clear memories of the man, but by all accounts he was a great guy. The result was that when my mother died of cancer (I was 24) there was zero knowledge of how to be a man. Some lost years ensued (decades? But luckily nothing happened that I truly regret. Posted by Keith Alan K. View my complete profile.

Views Of Texas: Like An Old Friend
http://kaktex.blogspot.com/2015/08/like-old-friend.html
Sunday, August 02, 2015. Like An Old Friend. Used to be my #2 blog, where I would post pics of stuff that pissed me off, and go on rants. It's been dormant for years, but tonight I decided to throw up a new post. Then I went for a stroll down memory lane, and re-discovered the fact that my late brother Ken loved the garage and left comments often. It was nice "listening" to my brother again. Views Of Texas: May 2014

Friday, May 30, 2014. Here in San Antonio we love the Spurs and their mascot, the Coyote. The original was amazing, and after he suffered a stroke and couldn't carry on his understudy has grown into the job so well you wouldn't know the difference. The last game we went to was vs my cousin's home team the Memphis Grizzlies, game # 77 of 82 in the regular season. That night the first 10,000 people through the gate received a Coyote Bobblehead! Do we need to call security of the homeland variety? But my ph...

Views Of Texas: June 2014
http://kaktex.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 20, 2014. This week I built a birdfeeder using crap I had around the house- a scrap of fence board, mason jar, florist wire, and a thin sheet of bamboo Ken and I had bandsawed off a cutlery organizer that was a little too long for it's drawer. Luckily the plan all along was to get tricky and game those birds:. I need to update this post tomorrow with a photo of my setup and some of the shots without flash. The camera is on a tripod about 4 feet closer to the house, and I take the picture fro...

Sunday, December 28, 2014. Christmas Card Photo 2014. This was our card:. Blanco County Courthouse, in Johnson City Texas. I say new because this is the old one, in Blanco Texas:. At some point in the distant past, the county seat was moved to the larger city, and the larger courthouse was built. Looks are deceiving, because we went with a side-view. And the long side:. I've been trying to schedule a shot like these for many years, and it finally came together a few weeks ago. Posted by Keith Alan K.

Views Of Texas: March 2015
http://kaktex.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 16, 2015. 121 Months Of Views. That's right, I've been blogging right here at the same URL for over ten years! Boy, the internet was a very. Different place back then, as was digital photography. Photobloggers" like me are a dying breed. Now it's all about news, shopping, gossip, and connecting via Facebook, etc. One thing that hasn't changed is that Blogger's (my hosting site) spellcheck still flags words like internet, blogging, and spellcheck. Funny but true. At the biggest jewelry store...
