Classic Tri-Plane Hulls - Mandala Custom Shapes
http://mandalacustomshapes.com/boards/classic-tri-plane-hulls
I combine a modern rail profile with a bit of edge starting at the leading edge of the fin to provide a more accessible hull experience. The S-deck keeps volume under your belly-button for efficient paddling and under your feet for a balanced and sensitive foil. Tapered stringers and glass-on fins amplify integrated flex and twist. Special thanks to Marc Andreini for shaping my personal stubbies and for taking the time to teach me how to foil a proper displacement hull.

Super Stubbies - Mandala Custom Shapes

No worry fo’ you blalah, the Super Stubbie is here. This design takes advantage of a fuller outline, hull entry, single to spiral vee, and functional volume to create a design that allows larger human beings to excel in small surf, or average humans to be able to carve and flow on days normally reserved for logging or sleeping. Available as single fins, 2 1s, or quad fin set-ups. 5’6” x 20.5” x 2.5”. 5’8” x 21” x 2.5”. 5’10” x 21.5” x 2-5/8”. 6’4” x 22” x 2-3/4”.

Special thanks to Joel Tudor for lighting a fire under my ass to bring this board into the world. I’m sorry yours took so long to “test” and get into your hands. (Don’t even think about asking him if you can borrow it.). Fine tuned and born ready, tapered stringers standard issue:. 7’6” x 22.5” x 3”. 7’11” x 22.75” x 3”. 8’4” x 23” x 3.25. 8’6” x 23” x 3.25”. Hunter Seeker TPH - Mandala Custom Shapes
http://mandalacustomshapes.com/boards/hunter-seeker-TPH
These boards represent the Greenough tri-plane hull design, as conveyed to me by Marc Andreini, extrapolated out into the realm of the glider. The hydrodynamic efficiency which these boards possess is immediately revealed the moment you start paddling. The long tear-drop hull bottom faceted by the tri-plane hull produces some of the smoothest riding characteristics of any board design I’ve ever ridden. It’s the definitive hot knife through butter. Immense, sparkling, shines bright:.

Arc-Swallowtail Quads - Mandala Custom Shapes
http://mandalacustomshapes.com/boards/arc-swallowtail-quads
After all these years, still my favorite board design…. The Arc-Swallowtail (ASQ) finds its roots from a variety of sources: the template from George Greenough’s Velo spoon bisected by the deep swallowtail of the Mirandon family’s Twin Pin, spiral vee concave via the Campbell Brother’s Bonzer venturi bottoms, and quad fin placement voodoo from Rich Pavel’s Speed-Dialer. Like avocado on pizza:. 4’11” x 19-3/4” x 2-3/8”. 5’1” x 20” x 2-3/8”. 5’2” x 20.25” x 2-1/2”.

The fuller nose area preserves functional surface area for fast paddling, while keeping the template short and sweet. Truncating the nose reduces swing weight, keeping the board lively and responsive. The wide-point forward teardrop entry coupled with a pulled-in pintail keeps water following the path of least resistance. This incredibly functional platform can be set up as a single fin, 2 1, tri-fin, quad, or even the 5-box. Velocious modules of alacrity:. 6’0” x 20” x 2-3/8”.

The Dark Crystal - Mandala Custom Shapes
http://mandalacustomshapes.com/boards/the-dark-crystal
The latest incarnation features a deep single concave, nose to tail tucked-under edge, and 5.5” x 1.5” Mini Keels. These Mini Keels allow easy access to “almost finless” surfing, keeping bottom contours simple and water following the path of least resistance. We like to surf them short, as the elliptical outline offers up a lot of parallel effective edge for controlled slides and a more upright stance. The design ethos is simple: free your mind and your ass will follow.
