How to Flourish – SHANESHACK
http://shaneshack.com/2015/07/02/flourish
Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. July 2, 2015. Can we have an honest moment together? When SCOTUS ruled on homosexual marriage last week, my mind began engaging in a battle over my emotions. I was emotional. That day I sat in front of two people I am doing marriage counseling with and held back tears. Even this morning, I had another moment as I thought about my daughters and how I lead them through this moral malaise. I want to teach them how to disagree with people. Gloom, despair, and agony on me.

Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. March 4, 2015. I love Jesus, I love my family, and I love my friends. I've spent my life pursuing ways to use my talents and gifts in ways that glorify God, support my family, and help my friends. From Mississippi, to Colorado, to Missouri, I've been privileged to live around amazing people my whole life who have encouraged, sharpened, and helped make me into the man I am today. Mercy, Freely Given – SHANESHACK
http://shaneshack.com/2015/04/16/mercy-freely
Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. Mercy, Freely Given. Mercy, Freely Given. April 16, 2015. The people want a death. If Romans were anything, they were blood thirsty. The Emperor chose to please the people. Let him die. As Maximus raises his axe to kill Tigris, he tosses it aside. At first the people are quiet, then some one shouts out, “Maximus, the merciful! 8221; The people cheer and love Maximus even more, and Commodus is noticeably unhappy. Who has hurt you? Who has betrayed you? As God in Christ forg...

Never Disowned! – SHANESHACK
http://shaneshack.com/2015/03/23/never-disowned
Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. March 23, 2015. Has anyone ever disowned you? I don’t mean the kind of idle threats that people make when you’re planning to do something that displeases them. I mean have you ever actually, for real, been disowned? You can be passively disowned as well. What does that mean? My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to m...If yo...

Transformed – SHANESHACK
http://shaneshack.com/2015/05/18/transformed
Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. May 18, 2015. Last Thursday our men’s group looked at Romans 12:1-2. Dr Martin Lloyd Jones, maybe the greatest preacher in Great Britain during the twentieth century, preached ten consecutive sermons on these two verses. If you’re interested, you can listen to each of those sermons here. I don’t intend to do that with our men’s group, but Jones’ exposition of these two verses demonstrate the depth of what Paul says here. How do you know one or the other is taking place?

Socially Incorrect – SHANESHACK
http://shaneshack.com/2015/05/13/socially-incorrect
Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. May 13, 2015. If you were to take all of the tweets, posts, graphics, photos, and articles shared by social media users who are professing Christians, you’d get a pretty interesting and diverse pile of words and pictures. Next, the question is this: Does the social media picture of a typical Christian walk in step with what the Bible calls a Christian? The first example I want to offer is the concept of a. Then you must accept B. Is correct, B. Sounds great, right? A relig...

Weeding the Wheat – SHANESHACK

Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. July 20, 2015. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about Pastor David’s sermon. From a few weeks ago. Towards the beginning of the message he preached about letting your. What does that say about us as a people? Rude Insensitive. Ungodly. But let’s take this a little deeper. This principle has deep roots that touch areas you might not consider. Think about your reasons for believing what you believe. What are your reasons? Are they rooted in truth or something else? They went ...

Myth Busting Worship Music – SHANESHACK
http://shaneshack.com/2015/08/07/myth-busting-worship-music
Write me: shaneshack@gmail.com. Myth Busting Worship Music. Myth Busting Worship Music. August 7, 2015. With all that said, let’s look at a few myths about modern worship music vs. hymns that should be busted. Modern worship music is theologically shallow and hymns are theologically rich. From the hymn camp I have chosen two examples of theologically shallow songs:. Doesn’t even mention the name of Jesus. Is nearly romantic in its lyricism as it speaks of the author’s intimate encounters with Jesus.
