May 15, 2010. The last twelve months have undoubtedly been the most psychologically and mentally challenging of my life. And with every hurdle I've managed to stumble over, I've come out on the other side thinking, "It's obvious that God is trying to show/teach/remind me that [*insert lesson here*]." I take that lesson as gospel, and try to remember it every day that that pesky hurdle emerges from the soil again. Tonight it occurred to me. What if there is no lesson? You may be unto something.

I turned up at his desk and asked, Do you have a few minutes to spare so that we can discuss the issue? This is an especially poignant question in a time when the channels of communication have enhanced greatly. Social networks, BBM, email, mobile phones. and, lest we forget, landlines still work. Surely, some time can be spared without earth-shattering consequences. I needed this one :).

April 28, 2010. Keeping The Blood Running. I have developed blood pressure problems. I think I'm what they call 'pre-hypertensive.' There are a lot of implications for high blood pressure, and none of them is good. Of course, there are all these things one should do to fight high blood pressure, like exercising, reducing salt intake and avoiding stress. If the people you love can't motivate you to want to take care of yourself, what will? Here in begins my wake-up call. Good to see you on here bC!

October 23, 2009. I had the 'luxury' of doing a photo shoot today (long story). It was indoors, and there was a requirement that the (professional) photographer use no flash in his pictures. This was a problem. Because I'm a black man. a very black man. All these people are white.". One of two things needs to happen - either cameras get better, or I get lighter. I have a feeling the latter won't occur. Excellently titled as usual :) Though I felt your frustration, this was a joy to read.
