Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. The humble, happy, and sometimes harrowing hack. June 2, 2015. Lately, auto and i have been logging many road miles. in an effort to get him legged up, reacquaint ourselves to a partnership under saddle, and just get the hell out of the barn, we’ve taken to exploring the paved roads around NSCS. by my estimation, we traveled 30 miles (! Your favorite horse and rider of all time – the $900 Facebook pony

The $900 Facebook pony. Your favorite horse and rider of all time. August 6, 2015. These are the kinds of pressing issues that I apparently spend a lot of time thinking about when the only time I speak to other human beings is at work. Woot, hermitism! Then, of course, because my mind is ever-wandering, I expanded beyond racing and into showjumping and eventing. Speaking of Reggie aka Ballynoe Castle RM- he gets my favorite eventer spot too. How could you NOT love Reggie? Who do you love? Gem Twist for r...

Dig My Size: July 2015
http://thestoryofdigs.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. Ideas (Aka the post in which I decide it's too hot). How Digby's topline used to look. (FYI - not me holding him). I need some help. I'm a giant baby in the heat (I chalk some of this up to the fact that I work outside and I literally sweat all. day. long.) and PA is warm in the summer. Not 100 degrees all the time Texas hot, but it's toasty. And humid. Ugh, the humidity! So what do you do in the "extreme" heat to keep your horses fit? Try lighter work loads? Friday, July 24, 2015.

Wilbur, Ellie, & Emily: February 2015
http://www.wilburisagem.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Ellie seems to take everything with a grain of salt and it was no different when the barn was doing some construction on the back walls of the stalls this past Saturday. She spent her day chillin' with the Skye Valley crew while her stall was being refurbished. Always the spectator, she'd grab a mouthful of hay and slowly chew over the partition while watching the show. Can you spot her? Wilbur, Ellie, and Emily. Labels: around the barn. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Once I had...

Asymp; 16 Comments. If you’re anything like me, when you’re not riding you’re daydreaming about riding. ‘Tis the life, amirite? Here are some of the things in riding I think are fucking awesome and I want to do them all the time! In no particular order. Not cantering uphill, but this is the ever-faithful Quincy. When I first ...

Posted by Nicole Sharpe. Asymp; 12 Comments. That can just derail your ENTIRE RIDE. These little things. These tiny, irritatingly significant little things. Me after five minutes saddle shopping. A lot of horses at our barn love the Stubben EZ Control, in both D- and loose-ring versions. They love them! To disparage Stubben or...

The Grassroots Competitor – the $900 Facebook pony
https://the900facebookpony.com/2015/08/11/the-grassroots-competitor
The $900 Facebook pony. August 11, 2015. August 12, 2015. Last week when I made my bi-weekly trek down to the mailbox to check the mail (sorry mailman, I’m lazy), I was surprised to find a big envelope from USEA in there. Not having a clue what it could be, I excitedly ripped it open and found this inside:. A Certificate of Achievement! The USEA Medal program. The Blue Ribbon Award. Program for all levels, BN through Advanced. The Certificate of Horse and Rider Achievement. Program for BN only. And I thi...

Rider Review: Higher Standards Saddle Soap - Equestrian At Hart

Adventures in riding and life. Annie’s Equine Elixirs. Rider Review: Higher Standards Saddle Soap. July 24, 2015. Reaching into the review archives again this week…. Being a self proclaimed tack ho comes with some price. The more tack you have the more cleaning there is to be done. Even if you aren’t using the leather it still needs to be cared for (or so I am told by my currently very sad looking leather open fronts after their months of neglect). I recently discovered Higher Standards Leather Care.
