Transitioning into liminal space (. Transitioning into liminal space. Anyway, I've never done work with sheet metal, or even really thought about it. What's the best way to do that sort of thing? Do you cut out pieces with a torch? What kind or torch would I need? I have a feeling the little propane one I have wouldn't do the trick if I'm using sheet steel. Speaking of what I'm using, what's a good compromise between durability against weathering and expense and ease to work with? Post a new comment.

Into Abandoned and Decaying Realms. June 21st, 2009:. Chicago Area Urban Explorers. Take only photographs; leave only footprints. And I had been planning on taking a trip to Detroit to see Michigan Central Station over the weekend. Unfortunately news that it is currently heavily under guard for some reason deep-sixed our trip. So instead, we headed for the south side of Chicago to look at what we think is an abandoned concrete mill. Photos, as always, are on my Flickr page. Powered by LiveJournal.com.

A visit from Chris - The Adventures of Restoman. A visit from Chris. Mar 22nd, 2015 10:18 pm. This weekend I spent some time with an LJ friend. Chris got along really well with Lily and spent quite a while playing with her and showing me some techniques for training her and getting her better socialized so that she will be a better pet. He was remarkably patient with her, and she loved having someone who would get down on the floor and wrestle around with her. 2015-03-23 03:33 am (UTC). She is beautiful,...

Easter Bullet Points - The Adventures of Restoman. Apr 5th, 2015 11:57 am. This past week has seen a rapid improvement in the weather. On Thursday the temperature hit the mid 60s Tee shirt weather! My Crocuses even started blooming in the front yard. There are still plies of dirty snow in places where the sun can't get to them, but the piles are going down. YAY! The total damages from chasing Lily (not including the financial ones):. 7 stitches in my forehead. A skinned left knee (no big deal). I'm so so...

Click Click - Giving Into Peer Pressure. Oct 16th, 2008 @ 10:01 am. I haven't really had a chance to go out and shoot pictures this year, so I've been itching to try out my new camera. I bought a Canon EOS 450D (aka the Rebel XSi). And I finally got a chance to take it out when. Joined me for a trip to Gary, IN. We've been there several times before, but there are still some places we hadn't fully explored yet. We started at the post office. After leaving the post office, we went back to City Methodist.

Lazy Days of Summer - The Adventures of Restoman. Lazy Days of Summer. Jul 5th, 2015 06:18 pm. Here are some random summer photos:. I tried a couple of flowers today, delighting in that sweet nectar that I hadn't tasted since I was a kid. A couple of weeks ago, on the way back from a stamp show in Canandaigua, NY, I took some back roads through the Geneva area and discovered this spectacular octagon house. It is huge! This is a detail of the lace-like cast iron decoration on the porches. I always wonder ...
